Fantastic! We visited with our 1 year old and did a tasting of the cheeses, ate morning tea in the cafe with a beautiful view, and fed the sheep. Family friendly and the food was tasty too. Our second visit to Grandvewe and it does not disappoint! Love the White Pearl, my favourite cheese.

South of Woodbridge we came across Grandvewe. A Sheep Farm that produces cheeses and Vodka and Gin using the sheep’s milk whey.
They offer a tasting of the cheeses then the vodka and gins.
Loved the cheeses particularly the blue. The main vodka was excellent and not surprisingly an award winner.
Most interesting combination of tastings. Highly recommended!!

We popped into Grandvewe Cheeses on a cold June day whilst in the area. Diane welcomed us and we had a lovely chat before she offered us a tasting - we love cheese so we were most happy to partake. She gave us great information about the production and flavours of each of the cheeses we tasted. The tasting experience also included a tipple of her son's vodka and gin brand - Hartshorn - where we were again taken through the range in detail. Whilst Diane was very welcoming, we weren't informed about the cost of the tasting when we arrived and in retrospect, I'm not sure I can find the value in the $15pp tasting fee; we tried a tiny square of four different cheeses, a dab of the pinot paste and a few dribbles of Hartshorn vodka. I'm certainly not adverse to paying for a tasting (in fact, I prefer to pay for a tasting to ensure the business is remunerated for their services), but I felt like the tasting lacked substance for the price considering the fee isn't even partly redeemable on a purchase. Perhaps if we'd been better informed prior about the cost and inclusions in the tasting we might've just paid for my tasting (my partner doesn't drink) and would've opted to purchase a cheese platter to have on their premises. Nevertheless, we enjoyed meeting Diane and hearing about Grandvewe sheep milk cheeses! We purchased a few cheeses to take home with us which we're looking forward to having this weekend!

We paid $15 each for tasting 3 cheeses pieces no bigger than my fingernail. A small taste of paste and a slice of sausage, a few tiny nips of their spirit. So discount for any purchases made after spending $30 on tasting. A decent slice of cheese would have made all the difference.

We were totally disappointed after having a small tasting of 4 cheeses, a slice of sausage and 2 very small spirits pp to taste we were charged $15 each that’s $30. We bought cheese and spirits worth over $147 & we were still charged $30 for the taste testing. Most places don’t charge if you purchase- we didn’t realise till we checked the bill which was way too late - won’t fall into that trap again. Sorry but feel ripped off.

They make quite nice cheese. However their tasting fee is a bit expensive for what you get. Three cheese, paste and sliver of kransky and a few sips of alcohol. Stick with buying the cheese.

We went to grandvewe to support a local business. We found a couple of very friendly workers in with the sheep but on entering the cheese tasting area we waited for a while till someone made an appearance. The young guy was friendly but seemed a bit lost, told us we could do. A cheese tasting but then told us to sit which we did ( at a table with uncleared dishes as it was the only one with a heater near it) eventually we were served, after quite another wait we got coffee ( terrible) and eventually lunch arrived. The leg ham and double cheese $12 toastie was a pathetic sandwich bread toasted sandwich, cut in half and plobked on a plate. The ham was chunks of haphazardly thrown on meat that I think came from a freezer as it lacked any taste. The toasted baguette with housemate chutney and mutton kransky was an untoasted hotdog roll with cold onions on the side , the bread was tough. The eggplant and dried tomato $12 toastie was again thin sandwich bread, but this time the crust and just horrid presentation and service again.
I am an accommodation owner in the area and was disgusted with the service or lack of and with the food. I send everyone to grandvewe as I had been before and was impressed, I will not be recommending again as it was not enjoyable in any way. I know it's mid wi tee festival and the release of a new cheese at Willie Smith's but wow, what a terrible experience. So very disappointed and never again

We drove down from Hobart expecting a great experience for our kids, sheep, wine cheeses all sounds good.
Well we got there and walked around struggling to find where and what to do, we walked ourselves into a stinky barn with a dozen if dirty sheep, it really stunk.
With nothing happening in the shed we went upstairs to the wine tasting again no one greeted us, i asked a waiter where are the sheep to show the kids, sge wad rude and short and struggled to say "down stairs", the kitchen looked grubby i would not eat there, and im not that fussy.
There where a lot of people turning up, and they where all thinking the same thing.
It needs a massive over haul, it had great potential to be a great business just needs someone who cares.
The fences are poor, weeds everywhere, looks tired.
Just my opinion.
But would not recommend going there at all.

Well we tried to experience or at least taste some of their products. We arrived with pockets loaded with money, and being lovers of different types of cheese, we really wanted to try some of their cheese.
We walked in, there was one woman behind the counter talking to a family of 4, the woman behind the counter looked at us, no acknowledgement. My wife and I walked up to the counter several times, still no acknowledgement, and no, would you like to try some of our products, absolutely stone cold nothing. She just kept talking to the family, who all 4 were against the counter which stopped us from getting near the products, and also didn’t offer to move to allow us to taste the products, very rude. We got to a point where my wife and I lost patience at being ignored, and walked out. As stated before, we were on a break, and were willing to spend plenty of money on some products.
By reading previous reviews, there must be someone who occasionally wants to help a potential customer, well we won’t be visiting this place again, and I’ll never recommend it to any of our friends to visit this place.

We will be nearby in mid-March and my daughter would like to see how the sheep are milked. What is the best time to see this?
Written 27 February 2019
Hi 2fromTX - would you believe today is the last milking day until August? By mid March the ewes will be pregnant & the team stop milking them to allow the Mums to gather their strength during their pregnancies. I just spoke with one of the family members who owns Grandvewe & she said a staff member would be happy to show you around the milking facilities & answer all your questions. There are also sheep milking videos in their cellar door / gift shop to watch. You can always observe the sheep in the pasture & usually they will come close enough to be patted. She said give them a call before you plan to visit & they will be able to suggest the best times of day to see interesting things relating to the sheep in their daily routine on the farm. If you have any other questions, let me know. All the best!
