Clean and well protected building. According to the guide, recently it is used as a mosque; but it's original structure was a cathedral. You can see the architectural features of the both structures if you look at the building a bit carefully.

The mosque was built in 1579. It was up until recently the hub of Tarsus. One of the minarets was changed into a clock tower in 1895.

A great mosque reminiscent of the Ottoman regime with the typical Ottoman Architecture and the fascinating and amazing Calligraphy which was an unforgettable experience. Dr.Javed Rasheed
