We were on our way to goa and did a break journey at kolhapur... Had heard alot about this temple. . As it was too hot my son, FIL and hubby were wearing half pants and were told that shorts are not allowed .. luckily the was a Dhoti shop right next to the entrance of the temple so we bought it and tied it around and were ready to visit this magnificent temple.. it felt so peaceful...black stone temple.. the mandir prangan is huge.. it's a must visit

Excellent Darshan

With e-pass it is very time saving and you will be in sanctum sanatorium within 10 mins. Morning puja booking and puja is well organised and it is absolute hassle free. Very much satisfied with the arrangement at temple Purohit and other staff is very co-operative. Travelled on 22-23 Jan 2021

Visited after a big gap

Visited Mahalaxmi temple on the return journey to Pune. Huge rush but waited in a queue with socal distancing followed. Immensely happy to get the darshan.

Located conveniently in the city. They are following all precautions. You can opt for shorter queues by getting a free online pass.

Post Covid.. the temple is now open for darshan and with free e-pass..one can avoid big queue.With E-pass you can take darshan from inside the sanctum.. Darshan is quick and easy... The Mahalaxmi Temple is also very divine and has a beautiful architecture... The only issue we observed is security staff and guards within the temple premises are very rude arrogant and impolite... They don't allow you to take Darshan even for ten seconds before the deity... So whoever plans to visit... Please manage the Darshan very quickly...

Temple timings are from 7am to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm. It remains closed from 2 pm to 4 pm. If you want to go via VIP line, book your e-ticket online which is free of cost. Else you can stand in a queue for general darshan. It also won’t take much time. We recited stotras and stutis to maa mahalakshmi while waiting in the queue and we totally loved it ❤️

Quick visit, good process followed to feel safe during Covid

Visited in Nov 2020, limited number of people allowed everyday, one can find parking also near the temple. When we went, it wasnt too crowded and temple authortieis could manage social distancing in the crowd. It was obviously not 6 ft but still decent to feel safe. Temple premises had limited areas open so one has to follow the path in and out and cannot roam around too much.

Washrooms needs to be maintained post Covid

Temple was closed but disappointment is the apathy towards cleanliness. Washrooms and food outlets should be checked for hygiene

Historical temple maintained very well by the management thanks to #MaharastraTourism. Even we visited in Mansoons,comparing to other temples in the same Goddess Mahalaxmi temple is so neat and clean.Must visit this place atleast once in a lifetime
