Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary from Goa

Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary, now known as Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary, was declared as 1st wildlife sanctuary in Maharashtra in 1958. The sanctuary was also popular as “Bison Sanctuary”. The latest surveys recorded about 425 species of plants, 47 species of Mammals, 264 species of birds, 59 species of reptiles, and 66 species of butterflies in the sanctuary. The main attraction of the sanctuary is Indian Bison or gaur (Bos gaurus). According to the 2004 survey, the population was around 610. Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is a great getaway from Goa, Mumbai and Pune for wildlife enthusiasts.<br>NOTE: The Sanctuary is closed during moonsoon from 1st June to 30th October.

Naka is named after Dr Kawle who work in missionary hospital during British regime as only medical facilities were available there only Tararani statue itself is second statue in the world where the whole statue is balanced on rear legs of horse . No external support is given it is circle as u enter the Kolhapur city

This Naka is your first point of contact (If you travel by road) as you enter Kolhapur. There is Statue of Tara Rani. Now lot of development around the area.

It is an arterial area of Kolhapur,hence very busy with almost very little parking space and the traffic being more very busy place
