There are many, many churches in Minas Gerais but this can be done as a day trip from Ouro Preto and worth it because of the statues and little stone rooms that can be seen around it. The designer, Aleijadinho suffered from leprosy when he...More

Quite imposing and outsized for the town, it shows Brazilian Baroque at its best. The price is quite high, and no photos can be taken. The best is the small square in front of it.

Nice church, you should visit if you are at the historic center. It's in walking distance from the train station, so it's worth visiting if you came from Tiradentes.

Surrounded by cobblestone this colonial church constructed in the 1700's is a great example of churches of that era. The gilding isn't overly done and all the work done inside is very interesting. The grounds are nicely done as well.

It's great, stunning. This church is very big, and the ornaments in gold are astonishing. It' worth seeing. Maravilhosa! A igreja é muito grande e ornamentada em ouro. Vale a pena ser visitada.

beautiful, but it´s difficult to find it open. On Sundays you can watch classic music during the mass. At the back there is a cemetery where a dear president of Brazil is buried.
