This is the first fountain I've seen in my life where it combines three purposes: drinking for humans, for horses and to wash laundry. It is purposefully set up with three different environments. When we visited it was full of water and perfectly functioning. Relatively well kept and worth a visit. We came there walking and is only 5 min... More

He tells all the history about the city and the region, the problems with the portuguese court, how at that time ppl chose where to start a church and teh first... More

Virtually abandoned. There is no water in the pipes. Access is impossible for the car. Impossivel for handicapped who is using crutches or wheelchair. There is an open sewer where once was a stream.

The fountain is nice but what is still nicer is the walk that starts from it and goes up to the source. There are monkeys frolicking above the walkers' heads. It is fun.

You shouldn't go to Tiradentes only to see this fountain, but if you are in town, I would recommend to take a look. It is worthy a couple of pics and some thoughts about life in the past. The walk to the place is interesting as well, so set aside a couple of minutes for this short "detour"

It could be better preserved in my opinion. It's interesting to imagine where people got their water to cook, clean, wash at that time
