Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there right after it opened after a long lockdown due to COVID. The reception was unattended, toilets were dirty and the surroundings looked neglected. I wouldn't spend more than 15-30 minutes in the center. Few cultural arts were on display and few others were available for purchase, and there were few pamphlets related to travelling around Kakadu region. Other than that, not really worth visiting.

This is a fantastic display to show the historical, cultural and environmental significance of the beautiful National Park. There weren't a lot of people there at the time we were but I think they have bus tours call in. I thought it was very very organised and the information well set out. I would recommend it as a stopping point while traveling through Kakadu.

I was happy to talk with guide about where I could go. Some roads closed due to seasonal conditions. Pretty wet in creeks and billabongs. I bought a stunning t shirt .. good fit and lovely indigenous art work of the rainbow serpent. Shop closed at 3:00, for unforeseen circumstances. Saw a silly wag tail. Lovely surroundings and good paths, ample parking.

The rangers and staff here couldn’t be more helpful! This is a fantastic starting point especially to gain a idea on time and distance of areas. They are also very helpful too organise national park passes which is a must! We went here with no plan and “Oscar” grabbed a booklet highlight a few features ( which didn’t require a huge 4WWD) and we were not disappointed at all! Please visit these guys your trip will be some much better for it .
The facility it’s self has great toilets, drinking water and funfacts too read.

Very disappointed with this centre. Looked tired, dusty and no love with the displays. There was no-one around. No place to purchase a cold drink if needed. The architecture of the building is beautiful but no-one is looking after the display inside. Walked through and left in 10 mins.

Worth a stop to speak to the very informative park staff member providing up to date info and maps on walks you can do in Kakadu. He was the only staff member on duty so it was a bit of a wait. Nothing else to see/do here. Park passes are best bought online.

We were very disappointed to find it was closed.
From what I understand, being redeveloped however we only found it closed when we got to it.
No prior notice on the signs before we turned off to get to it.
Therefore no tourist info. We had been to the tourist center in Darwin and they hadn't mentioned it was closed either.

This visitors centre has been here for quite a while. Take your own walk around the exhibits. Two staff were kept busy at the info desk and there was plenty of helpful info available about all the things to do and see in Kakadu. In need of a little updating but fine otherwise.

Located only a few km's from Jabiru.
There is a gallery which stocks art and crafts, books and gifts.
Watch a 25 minute video presentation and then take a walk through the interpretive displays. Videos are shown on the half hour or so.
The habitat displays and library gives you detailed information about Kakadu and how much there is to see and do.
Although we have been to Kakadu now several times, our first visit here was invaluable.
There is also a café where we stopped for coffee mid morning.
Best to stop here on your way into Cooinda and get some good information.

I think you missed the whole purpose of this wonderful interpretive Centre. It’s there to inform not feed visitors. Pity your focus was wrong. Time to put culture before coffee.

Hi did you know the cafe is a different company?
Written 5 April 2016
No,I didn't know it was a different company.
I found the visitors centre to be worth the visit, as I said in my review, but I, and a few other people could not get served at the cafe there, so I went back to Jabiru to eat.
The staff would poke their heads around the corner, have a look and then ignore us and then start chatting again. Or they would walk to the counter and ignore us.
This went on for quite a while.
All my reviews are honest and factual.
So It matters not to me who owns the cafe.
