We dropped by without a reservation yesterday after reading about Jester House on Trip Advisor. We were greeted warmly and told they were fully booked for tables outside and would we mind sitting inside. The waitress was very sweet and told us if something opened up, they would move us outside. Our kids took off to play in the many... More

Lovely menu and a wealth of adventure for the kids to explore safely. Would be my local if we were locals!

You can choose a table in the garden or indoors, you can wander the gardens or climb down a steep bank to the tame eels. It's a quirky sanctuary with grass and trees. There's a play area for the kids. You'll be served by friendly staff. We had a yummy smoked fish salad and a venison burger. We heard a... More

Quaint and quirky cafe with lots to do and see, as well as good menu. Try the lemon tart. Or watch the eels in the creek.

On our way back from Abel Tasman National Park we spotted a sign to Tame Eels and were intrigued. We found the place, off the main road and on a scenic route to Ruby Bay, and were led to a table outside. It was a bit chilly and it migh have been nice to have been offered the choice of... More

What a delight this cafe is. A perfect place for children, any age, families, groups of adults, parties, and any other celebrations. Lots of unusual play areas for children, seating in the huge garden or indoors, great food, no greasy fries etc, but good wedges, children catered for. Just the best place in the Tasman region for that family gathering,... More
