Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This great venue is located on State Highway 1 at Mana just north of Wellington. It hosts many different sports including rugby, soccer, cricket, yachting, fishing swimming, etc. There’s also an area set aside for freedom camping where we caravanned on a recent trip to Wellington. It’s a lovely spot right on the beachfront and was very sheltered during our stay. It was great to watch the goings-on around us while we enjoyed a glass of wine and the company of family members who live in the vicinity. I highly recommend this venue if you are travelling north from Wellington and have just disembarked off the Cook Strait ferry, or it’s an ideal park-over if you are sailing on the ferry to the South Island.

Good for campervans, kids, open space and has a safe beach at the northern end. Conveniences. Rail station handy. Supermarket, and cafe's handy. Good fishing spot. Kids playground. Just be careful of the tidal current at the southern end. It is a bit exposed to the wind, but a lovely spot otherwise.

A lovely natural site for camping, or a family picnic, and some great walks. Toilets close by, and a few minutes' walk to the station, bus stops, supermarket and cafes.

Popular local sports grounds catering for Rugby Soccer Cricket Tennis Squash along with indoor sports in Ngati Toa Hall.
The Hall also caters for social functions. The Marina provides good quality boating facilities and is home to the local cruising club with sea scouts and sea cadets next door.
There are some nice walks along the waterfront from Paremata to Plimmerton.
Warning swimming is safe in some areas but consult a local as some areas can be dangerous particularly with the change of tides.
Plimmerton beach is sheltered and safer.
Mana railway station borders on Ngati Toa domain.
