Went for the Sunday lunch bogof for every Sunday in November..great deal!!! We had assorted breads with olive oil and balsamic vinegar accompanied by a nice Cornish lager....we both had the roast beef that was cooked to perfection, with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and veg selection...all seasoned beautifully. We ended the meal with Apple crumble and lemon tart. We couldn't... More

We ate here before watching a film at the cinema. The service was friendly and the atmosphere nice but..... My husband ordered a main course of pork in filo. It tasted lovely but only came with 3 tiny sprigs of broccoli and nothing else (for 15.95). We had ordered chips to go with it (an extra £3) but their chip... More

The broccoli soup we had tasted awful - it was bland and had a citrusy acid taste which was unpleasant - it needed seasoning and could have done with some cream or Stilton in it. My husband also disliked it - wished we had sent it back now as neither of us liked it. The main meals were good. Very... More

I've been to Dartington many years before, and decided to visit again now that the White Hart has been refurbished. Although it is listed on Tripadvisor as a 'pub', it has now become a lot more upmarket, restyled as a 'bar and restaurant'. The food was delicious and fresh. The problem lies in their portion sizes. I ordered the catch... More

In opulent surroundings what is not to like? I understand it was a quaint pub before but you have to move with the times and I particularly like it and the products that are on offer such as the real ale. A particular favourite 'Proper Job'.

Better than average food, but let down by inexperienced waiting staff, and lacking in ambience. We chose a bottle if wine, the waitress came back a few minutes later because she had forgotten which wine we chose. Then returned with two glasses instead of a bottle. We called her back to request a bootle again, and she asked us if we... More

We ate here last Saturday. We had a bit of trouble booking as we had to leave a voice message which apparently wasn't picked up, however they had plenty of free tables so it worked out fine. The meal was really excellent. I had the vegetarian option - really tasty! My husband had the 21 day aged steak and it... More

So - what didn't we like - basically some elements of the food. The breakfast - very poor. We expected so much, however we were sadly disappointed on two out of the three mornings - some unsmiling sullen staff, lack of choice of fruit as dishes were empty but worse of all the hot food buffet was not hot, tepid... We (4 of us) went to the White Hart last Sunday and had a great Sunday lunch. Roast beef was perfectly cooked and the deserts were also very good. Service was Ok and no problem for us. The wine list extensive and very reasonable. All in all I thought that it was a good place to go for Sunday Lunch... More

Stayed 2 nights in the Hall and enjoyed dinner both nights. Lovely staff who were friendly and helpful, superb food and wines and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We will definitely go back.

Thank Catherine P
