Arrived at dusk in the hope of seeing a murmuration of starlings over the marshes. Conditions were perfect: a beautifully calm evening with a perfect sunset over Newlyn. ~The starlings started to arrive in small flocks at about 5.30 pm and finally roosted at 5.50 - a spectacular sight as they dropped out of the sky into their night roost.... A very quiet time of the year but the place is so peaceful and still plenty of wildlife to see. Well located with the beach on the other side of the road and close to marazion and St Michael's Mount.

Quite time of year but there is plenty to see. Good for walking and on the St Micheal's way. Would be a good spot to sit and relax while looking at the wildlife.

We visited near evening time, and it was beautiful. Very serene, pledasant walk. Didn't see any bitterns though!

The marsh is not the biggest nature reserve around but it packs a lot of punch. Avocets, herons, rabbits, swans and a wide variety of small birds depending on the season. Only the width of the road from the beach which stretches from Marazion to Penzance it's a real haven. you also get some stunning sunsets around here too.

We loved this part of Marazion. We were able to take our dogs on this part of the beach, the dunes are lovely, there's a stream to play in & stunning views of St.Michael's Mount. We had a barbecue on the beach here which was a bit of a highlight of the holiday

A lovely little reserve, just behind the beach, with ample parking. Clearly-defined path through the reeds, enabling super views of nesting heron, but sadly no sight of the visiting pelican that the car park attendant had assured us had been seen recently. Lots of smaller birds about in the evening, as well as masses of rabbits. Slightly scary notice at... More

Travelling with 2 keen bird watchers we hoped this would be an interesting place to visit whilst staying at Marazion. We asked many locals for directions, plugged in its location to our satnav and still struggled to spot its one small sign at its entrance. We found parking (£3.50) some distance away. We saw a few birds and rabbits but... More

A very peaceful walk and more sheltered from the elements than if you walk along the beach. this time we visited in March but in the past have walked here on a hot summers day and have welcomed the shade and peace from the busy beach.
