This is one of the most beautiful sites in Afghanistan. The sheer splendor and attention to detail is awe inspiring. If non-Muslim avoid prayer times out of respect. Otherwise, you will be allowed entrance. The city is fairly "safe" when put in perspective to Kabul...More

the mosque in the heart of the city is unique in its use of blue ceramic tiles laid in ornate designs. The towers in particular are beautiful.

the blue mosque is one of the most beautiful place in Mazar-e-Sharif and in North Afghanistan. the historical architecture is good preserved and the atmosphere around the mosque is unique.

Ofcourse women will be safe but if they wear respectful clothes ! If any woman in any country in the world go out half naked, i'm sure someone will disturb her.
