Somehow we missed the actual path to the lighthouse from Fort Amherst but you could see it in the distance. This is a very pretty spot to spend some time walking, about 35 min from downtown.

The old unmanned lighthouse sits at the end of a dirt road. The road and the grounds around the lighthouse are not well maintained. We took a photo and left. The lighthouse itself appears to be in need of new coat of paint.

This is the second oldest lighthouse on PEI. It is in rough shape but is still great to visit. There is also a path to access the beach. When we were there, we captured a cruise ship leaving the Charlottetown Harbour. You will pass Fort...More

Very cool old lighthouse. It's in pretty rough shape but still working away. Very close to Fort Amherst and definitely worth checking out.

This lighthouse is cool and the site is beautiful. Unfortunately, it is closed - what a shame! Worth visiting if you are also going to the Fort Amherst National Historic site.

I used to bike here from our cottage in Rocky Point. You get beautiful views of all the sailboats and pleasure boats in the harbour and around the point! Spectacular!

Walking along the boardwalk you suddenly turn a corner and see this lighthouse tucked away farther down the path. It is a nice view. Up close it still looks like it is functional but it would be nice if they buried the wire trailing across...More

Good question. Of course I don't know the answer but you would think this landmark and historical record should be treated with more respect. It would be a cool place, albeit small place to live. You would likely meet... More
