My girls loved strawberry picking experience and strawberries were good value and tasted amazing. Love the kids corner outside! . We did have a issue with the friendly golden retriver, my oldest daughter has had a few incidents with dogs and is scared of them, there was a male worker out the front who could see my daughter was scared and wanting us to pick her up and then a female employee who came out to chat to a customer and it was disappointing that they didnt put the dog away, we had ordered food and we could not enjoy our food, my husband and myself were fed up after watching multiple employees ignore the situation only after my husband asked for the dog to be put away did they do it.

What a lovely afternoon out, picking and eating the most delicious strawberries, a well stocked shop of local produce, friendly helpful staff and only a half hour drive from Adelaide’s southern suburbs, what’s not to like?

Strawberry picking experience was good although a tad pricey. Food was not good at all, and we waited close to half hour for it. Staff explained that they were short staffed that day however that should still not excuse the substandard food. After reading a few other reviews on here it appears to be the norm. Really disappointing given the gourmet offerings on the shelf etc

Very disappointed with our visit to harvest the fleurieu. After driving all the way there we were harshly informed that a booked was necessary unbeknownst to us. We among many others were then turned away and after being told that we needed a booking went straight into the website to book. The booking went through however when shown to the staff they turned us down and even the manager told us that this was our fault because we should have booked the day before.
Poor costumer service, will not be returning.

Went for lunch and was also looking at doing some strawberry picking but the online system only offered us limited options that suited us (12.30pm or 2pm) - we could've waited around for the 2pm session but decided not to as there is little else to do and see there. We ended up buying a $1kg punnet for $5 which was great value and the strawberries were delish. The food was average - my poached egg was underdone and the lettuce unwashed and gritty. Not sure we'll make the trip especially as it's not really worth it. The staff were pleasant and helpful though.

Hi Michelle, Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. I am sorry you missed out on strawberry picking this time round due to the lack of options. Hopefully next time you are passing through we wont require the contact tracing system at all and COVID will be a thing of the past. I am so glad you got a bargain with the strawberries you bought in store and enjoyed them. I have passed on your feedback to the chefs and they hope to impress you if you happen to drop in again. Please if you do drop in ask for Meg and I would be happy to follow up further with you. I'm also glad you enjoyed my team. They are a bunch of legends ;) Hope to see you again.

Ive been here 3-4 times before over the years and I'm local.

We went to go there on the weekend with family. Arrived and was told we have to register online with an email and register a time. Got onto very confusing website which said times were not available, tried to register again, website froze up. They wouldn't let us in without an email. I would have been happy to write it down, but it had to be through their online system.

Punnet is $10 (holds about 20-25 strawberries) plus $5 entry per person. It was going to cost us $20 to pick your own punnet of strawberries where in this industry, those who work as pickers get paid to pick fruit. It's become a commercial ripoff now and with this contact tracing system, it was seriously flawed.

Frustrated at the setup of the system and prices, we left and spent our money elsewhere which didn't have a rubbish contract tracing system like this.

If you have children, go elsewhere and save yourself the trouble.

Had I have been the owner of this establishment, I would have been embarrassed by the way it was setup, not to mention the price gauging involved for an experience which is highly overrated.

I will never return and will be telling all friends and visitors to the area I know not to bother.

If you want strawberries from this place, buy them at the local IGA in Mt Compass for a fraction of the price. They are the same product and you don't have to pay for the privilege of picking them.

Very disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am sorry that you found the website confusing and were having technical issues with your phone freezing. We are doing our best with the rules that have been put in place for us by the government, during the saga that is COVID. We are constantly updating and working on the systems as the rules change daily. I will make sure there is a paper version available in future. As for the pricing of the pick your own strawberries experience, I believe as yes it is $5 per person entry and kids 12 and under are free, with the option to eat as much as you like while out there is pretty great. 1 Punnet per 5 paying entries is also a rule at a cost of $10. How great is that that you can take well over a kilo worth of strawberries home to do with as you like, whether you eat them fresh, make it into jam or freeze for some delicious smoothies. You may not be aware but the cost of maintaining the patch and daily repairs is, but I can promise you are NOT cheap. On top of that the ever increasing public liability insurance is something that we cannot fully absorb. Although The IGA is the best IGA around in my opinion and also showcase some great strawberries, majority of the time when in SA season they have another hard working local grower in their store. I may not be the owner of the establishment but I am so proud of what Harvest the Fleurieu is, represents, the team that runs it and everything they do. As a local, if the strawberry picking isn't for you, I hope you give either our cafe a go or even support other local businesses by purchasing some of their products.

I thought the kids would like to pick fresh strawberries. Realised the price was $8 for a decent sized punnet, what I did not realise is they now charge you for picking the strawberries. I had three children with me so that punnet ended up costing me $26. No wonder there was hardly anyone else dumb enough to pick their own strawberries. At Berenberg in the Adelaide Hills its free (under 12) to pick your own strawberries so I recommend if you have a strong desire to pick your own strawberries go there or head to Foodland and save some money.

Hi Chris, Apologies for the slow response we have only just managed to get back on to the account. Beerenberg are a fantastic, family owned business that offer a huge range of their absolutely delicious sauces, jams and chutneys. I would highly recommend everyone to stop in and try their mango, chilli and lime dressing and their Tarte ;) They have a beautiful farm too with plenty of beautiful strawberries to pick when in season. Just for your future information in case you are passing through or would like to make the trip up, we also have entries 12 years and under free. You do have to purchase a punnet per 5 paying entries at $10 each as well. You are more then welcome to try as many strawberries as you like while picking the best ones for your punnet ;) It is a great experience for the kids that you cant get from buying a punnet at a store so hopefully no matter where you do your strawberry picking you give it a go.

Luke warm coffee and sloppy presentation after a long wait.
You've got the product and the unique experience but the delivery is unprofessional. Clear the tables promptly and serve from the RHS when you have guests. And best not to "grab" plates from tourists who know better!

Great range of goods as well as strawberries. You can go out in the fields and pick your own or going into the shop and purchase them. We are at home enjoying them now. There is a wide range of goods to purchase.
