About
Seal Bay offers one of the most exceptional nature-based experiences in the world. Fees are invested into ongoing research and conservation efforts and through these efforts we hope to preserve the natural habitat of a wild Australian sea lion colony for generations to come. Our tours are designed to suit a wide variety of visitors - you can stay all day if you want to! There are no enclosures or cages at Seal Bay. Instead, you will be taken into the heart of the colony where our experienced guides will teach you more about these endangered animals. Visitors given a unique insight into how these endangered animals fish, surf, rest, interact with their pups and defend their territory. If you prefer, you can set your own pace on the wheelchair accessible 300 metre boardwalk which meanders through the dunes to a number of viewing platforms.

Beautiful beach filled with seals
Sep. 2021 • Couples
They only accept visitors until 4pm and we got there at 3:55pm. Still, plenty of time to do the board walk and see some seals by the beach. The only bad thing is that we missed the guided tour…

Wonderful Wildlife Experience
Sep. 2021
What a fantastic experience with the seals. It was so windy and cold - blowing from the Great Southern Ocean BUT it didn't deter from the wonderful wildlife experience. The Rangers were great and very focused on safety for the seals and ourselves.

I did the guided tour onto the beach and enjoyed every minute of it. The guide we had was excellent. Full of information about the area and the seals. All the staff were friendly.

A Must Do
Sep. 2021
Exceptional experience. A MUST SEE on Kangaroo Island. We did the guided tour onto the beach....totally worth it. The National Parks guide was extremely helpful and informative. We learnt a great deal. Up close and personal with the wild seals was nothing less than fantastic. Would recommend this to people of all ages.

Seals, seals and more seals!
Aug. 2021
We did the self guided board walk tour and really enjoyed it. The board walk offered great views of the coast and the seals. It was a pleasure to the view the seals laying around the beach and the dunes and also some in the water. Check under the boardwalks as you go, we spotted a mother seal feeding her baby!

Wild weather but worth it!
Jul. 2021 • Family
Wild weather but worth it to see the sea lions in their natural habitat and the amazing scenery along the boardwalk. My son liked running down the pathway and spotting all the seals sheltering on the sand. We saw some coming into shore and also hiding amongst the rocks. If you like wildlife you need to see it yourself.

Nice experience
Jul. 2021
Visited early (1st there at 9.05am) and found the staff very welcoming. Around $45 for 2 adults and one child was a reasonable fee. We only did a self walk (not guided) and it was a very good experience seeing the sea lions in their natural environment - they are extremely beautiful. The view from the boardwalk was also sensational - we enjoyed the hour we spent there.

Great tour
Jul. 2021 • Couples
We really enjoyed our seal tour. It was great to get closer to the seals than you can on the boardwalk only. The guided tour takes you right down onto the beach. There were young and adult seals sleeping on the beach and some young ones swimming in the shallows. Well worth the cost of the tour and you are helping with seal conservation at the same time.
