While enjoying a day in Yarra Valley, we stopped at Soumah for lunch. They have a lovely restaurant overlooking the vineyards with a good menu, everything about it was inviting. The tables are situated under a variety of decorative plants and are arranged along large windows so that you can see outside from any seat. They have an impressive lunch menu that offers something for everyone, and wine pairings that make your meal even better. Unfortunately, as nice as these things are, the staff is just as bad. Our waitress was outright rude to us, having an attitude when we simply asked her for water. Everything she brought to the table was thrown down, and if she wasn't rolling her eyes when we asked for something, she was sighing, or frowning, or scowling, or something else to express how miserable she was. As much as we had been looking forward to having lunch here, we couldn't pay the bill fast enough and move on to somewhere else.

We enjoyed a very peaceful and comfortable stay in one of the new Villettas at Soumah . Really beautiful and well equipped villas with balconies overlooking the vineyards . Comfortable beds and pillows which are always appreciated! The Cellar Door provided platters of delicious food for us to eat in the evenings accompanied by one of the excellent Soumah wines . Very well placed in the Yarra Valley for a relaxing stay.

Excellent service and delicious food and wine. Our waitress didn't seem to have any pr skills, as she didn't say a word after checking our booking, just walked us to our table. We always love going to this winery and highly recommend it.
