Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I had a really lovely horse & it is a great activity to have available on Maggie. The spot was very beautiful.
I did have a few things which could be improved, they didn’t really explain much regarding what was going to happen. At some point I got yelled at for overtaking one of the instructors in the middle because she kept stopping after moving one step & I didn’t know why at the time, it was driving me crazy. I found the ride rather boring, I had hoped that when I marked the sheet to indicate capability that it would change that.
I knew we would change into the wetsuits, however no privacy is provided. There was all age groups there, and a lot of us were uncomfortable.
The some of the instructors were nice & kindly took photos for us.

After not riding for many years i rediscovered my love of horse riding.
As a solo rider i was welcomed and made to feel like i was part of the group by our lead rider Laura and the team.
This is a must do experience.
the scenery and wild life i encountered was second to none and i will keep the fond memories of the experience for years to come.
My horse Bentley was a magnificent and tame horse that i connected with as the ride went on.
I would like to convey my thanks to Sam, Laura and the team.
Overall this experience was truly money well spent and i would certainly do it again.

The girls that work on the ranch do a great job, recommend doing a ride for yourself, ollie was a good horse to ride, although he makes his own trail

We booked this experience for a surprise for our daughter's 21st birthday and we were lucky enough to have this experience all to ourselves - 2 intermediate riders and a beginner. Our horses - Dusty, Bentley and Freckles were fantastic and took very good care of us on our 2.5 hour bush and beach ride. The girls who accompanied us on the tour were amazing and obviously love what they do. Whilst on our ride we were lucky enough to see a sleeping possum and wombats with their babies. There was plenty of time for trotting but also just enjoying the scenery and the highlight was riding bareback in the sea. All stinger suits and helmets were provided.
This experience was absolutely amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone - experienced rider or beginner.

Sam and her team were excellent. We have 2 girls (6 and 9yo). They loved it. Horse’s were well behaved and very easy to ride. A must do for anyone visiting Magnetic Island.

The bush and beach ride was perfection. The girls who ran the tour were so lovely and supportive and the views were spectacular. We saw koalas in the wild and riding a horse bareback in the ocean is something I’ll remember forever. Would highly recommend!

Such a magic experience for all of us!
Beautiful horses and friendly staff took care of us so well. Thanks to you all for catering to the more experienced in our group and letting us enjoy a canter, and also for doting on the smallest and inexperienced in our group.
We have all taken away the most amazing memories! Riding through the Bush, spotting koalas and swimming with the horses was just beautiful.

Is this business still operating?
Their website doesn't look like they provide tours anymore. My partner and I would like to do some horse riding on the island.
How much does this cost we are visiting between Christmas and new year

How should I dress for this tour

Hello,
I would suggest checking the weather first but Magnetic Island is usually pretty nice all year round. Long pants are a must, i suggest something easy to get on and off as you be a little sticky getting out of the water, tracksuit pants or jeans would do. Bathers if your going to swim which I suggest everyone does and of course runners or boots to ride in.
Have a great time!

Hi There, My son is staying at Arcadia Beach Guest House is it far from Horseshoe Bay Ranch and what's the best way for him to get to you? Is this suitable for a complete novice (He's never ridden a horse in his life) Does this activity run daily?
Thanks so much Helen : )

We are a party of four that will be arriving in Townsville on 10th February 2016 for an overnight stay before driving on down to Airlee Beach. We will be arriving early afternoon and we were wondering if horse riding would be possible for us in the short time we have available? Not sure what your timings are. Also an indication as to cost per person would be appreciated too, many thanks Janine.
