I have visited the island of St. Maarten on 8 occasions but I never took the opportunity to head over to Anguilla until this most recent trip. I took the ferry from Marigot to Boiling Point and once I cleared customs, I was able to meet up with a very friendly gentleman by the name of Christian who agreed to... More

Decided to visit whilst I was staying in St Maarten. The previous reviews were so good I thought it was worth a look. There is not much in Anguilla and not really much in Shoal bay, but it's the closest thing to paradise I've ever seen. I can't recommend it enough and you won't want to leave.

This is one of our favorites in Anguilla. The sand is white and the water is a beautiful blue color. It is easy to get in and out of the ocean and makes a great spot to enjoy your time in the water. There are about 6 beach bars where you can rent chairs (sometimes free if you eat with... More

We took the ferry from Marigot and rented a car from Andy's upon arrival at Anguilla. It was easy and same price as taxi for two hours. We drove to Shoal Bay. We rented chairs and umbrella at Tropical Sunset for $10. The beach was amazing. Unspoiled and pristine sand and views. Quiet location.

We were staying at West End Village but rented a car to get to know the island and beaches. The day after arrival we decided to head east to Shoal Bay. On the way (approximately 25-minute-ride) the weather started to changed until it began raining cats and dogs by the time we got to Shoal Bay. However, we could see... More

Our first day we walked the beach. Our first stop oceanside was Gwen's. We heard the music from the live scratch band, smelled the delicious food, got a rum punch, took off our sandals, and had a marvelous afternoon. Dancing, eating laughing- the kids played in the sand. An amazing way to start our vacation.

This is one incredible place to spend time! We had half a day and it wasn't enough. The water is perfect and there is snorkeling from the shore.

There are sand bars about 50 feet out that create a great cascade effect of waves crashing on the bar, and then at the sea.

Crystal clear turquoise waters, white fine powdery sand beach, palm trees swaying, and no crowds. What more does anyone want or need?
