This beach is a mix of rounded rock and sand. You can find places to put down your towels at low tide, but high tide will move you up into the rocks. There is a constant wind and a fine black grit (likely coal bits)...More

At one time, prior to being a Provincial Park, this was a glorious place with amazing sand dunes and waves and swimming. Then came the most toxic coal burning Nova Scotia Power Generating Station in plain view of Dominion Beach. It is considered the most...More

This is amazing place. On the Atlantic side, there are many waves and lots of wind. On the other side is a lake and its quite peaceful. Ducks are happy there. I enjoyed the ocean the most. I liked how wild it was! The boardwalk...More

The view of the windmills and the power plant took away from the whole beach experience for me. We visited on a rainy day which didn't help, but after exploring other beaches on the island, this one didn't measure up. It was close to Sydney...More

I read reviews online that this was a great beach for sea glass hunting. We found about 15 nice pieces in an hour. There is plenty of parking on site, public bathrooms, and a nice long beach.
