Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here with our 8 new friends on an Intrepid tour, and our lovely leader Margret. Outstanding welcome, wonderful food, great accommodation and such a peaceful place.
This was the best stay of the 6 hotels we stayed at, would go back tomorrow! Hotel rooms were clean, modern and very beautifully designed.
We tried the moss soup, ate great homemade dinner (bread outstanding) and generous breakfast and were lucky enough to see the artic fox by the stream. What memories, thank you Villi.

Just went here for lunch today as part of a group tour. The lamb soup with fresh bread (think it was soda bread) was amazing. Staff all friendly and helpful. It was very, very snowy so difficult to walk around but a beautiful place nonetheless.

If I did not do some research, I'll probably miss this farm. Its out of nowhere and if it is not the sign we would miss it. You had to drive some gravel road and practically no cars are in sight and you see nobody. You looked around its all flat and just scrub and all of a sudden you 'll see turf houses and then even tourist buses and loads of tourists. There are shops, restaurants, rest rooms, church and animals. Great stop, to drink some coffee, go to rest room and check out turf houses and a real farm. Everything was kept real clean and nice.

Lovely setting, staff friendly, food good quality. Only criticism is the price. Two soups, one cup of tea, one coffee and one cake cost the equivalent of £42 🙄. That said, I can't wait to return.

We stopped here after staying in Egilsstaðir. The area around Moordalur is out of this world (in that it actually feels like the moon). The weather up here was cold and windy (though we got lucky with an incredibly beautiful, sunny day).
The restaurant felt like a nice little mountain lodge. We were able to order soup and hot chocolates, which really helped warm us up--though be ready to spend a little as it was a bit more expensive food-wise.
After eating, we walked around the farm to see the church and meet a friendly goat, though you can really see everything rather quickly. We also saw one arctic fox that clearly was used to being fed and hanging out with the spotted dog that greeted us when we arrived.
All in all, a great little pit stop--restaurant/food/restroom on site. Definitely recommend!

Mödrudalur is not on the ring road (since it has been moved), so it might be missed on trips around the island. unjustifiable, as it's really a little gem. you can find traditional houses there, a beautiful landscape, a camping ground and a cosy restaurant with a wonderful terrace. As we arrived there in mid afternoon the kitchen offered "only" a reduced variation of food - meat soup, waffles and cakes - the atmosphere though really is inviting. Worth a try are in any case their Ástarpungar or Love Balls, a fried pastry, together with a hot chocolate.

Visited there and took pictures of cute brown arctic fox kits only to find out that the owner hunts and kills their parents and then uses the kits as tourist attraction until autumn when he kills then too.

Great stop. We had a broken bicycle and stopped in modrudalur. End of season, winter on it's way, easy going and the last rays of sun before winter.
Enjoy your stay I would say

Scenic large farm and church, with goats wandering around. The 'highest' inland farm in Iceland we were told. Has snack shop, toilets, and a good place to hang while waiting for our Helicopter Ride from Volcano Heli...not sure I would drive there just to see the farm/church.

This is the place I liked the most from our trip in Island. In the middle of nowhere, just the mountains, animals, this farm and a church. The place is super warm and cozy (woody place) and the all the staff are amazing. I believe it gets even better in winter. If you are nearby don't hesitate to visit even if it's for a simple drink, so worthy!

Bonjour,
Nous voulions savoir quel est l'état de la route en été pour accèder à ce camping, car c'est sur une route à 3 chiffres, du coup, avec un van aménagé ça passe?
En vous remerciant pour votre réponse,
Cordialement
