Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the St Kilda Bird Sanctuary twice in one day in March 2019 and saw a couple of dozen gulls and a few ibis but few other birds. We had much better luck seeing birds in farmers' water reservoirs in the area. We have heard that habitat destruction along the migration route had devastated bird populations. We speculate that we are witnessing the impact.

This sanctuary extends for some 60km along the coast North of Adelaide. The mangrove trail at the Southern end allows visitors to follow a boardwalk to an observation site overlooking the coastal flats. Take powerful binoculars because most of the birds are a long way from the observation point.

The Sanctuary doesn't have a centre as such that we could find, but there are southern & northern sections with areas to watch from, especially away from the kids playground in St Kilda.
The Tackle & Tucker shop in the car park at St Kilda has Sanctuary leaflets.
We saw a lot of the black swans coming home to roost, alongside an awful lot of other birds but sadly we needed binoculars to see more.
The coastline is undeveloped & exposed, making it a bird haven - long may it remain!

Stopped off here on the way to Yorke Peninsula. What a lucky break that was. Absolute amazing array of birdlife on display. TIP: bring mosquito repellent
