Historic building

We pass this on a regular basis and I have to admit at the moment the building itself is gorgeous. We look forward to visiting it once it has been restored.

Visited Sauchie tower during the doors open season which was organised by local preservation group. Knowledgeable volunteers took us around the grounds and up into the tower itself and provided a history of the buding. Fantastic opportunity to visit a site 'in situ' as there is no access at any other time of year

. . . but then I am biased,as this tower is embedded in my ancestry.Schawpark also, which is nearby. I agree it is not in the best state of repair, but neither are many historic places throughout Scotland and all UK. However,in the eyes of many, that doesn't demean their value or indeed their beauty.I visited Sauchie Tower on a wet day in... More

I hate to give this a bad review but I think it's only fair to people who are seeking attractions or going on the tower trail. This site is not open and is in a state of disrepair. There is an information board outside with a little information but very little. The tower itself has been closed for a long... More

Stayed at lodges nearby and pass it everyday, thought we would stop. The tower looks beautiful and after reading the notice board will return when it is restored.

Sauchie Tower, is a wonderful example of the architecture of Scotland in the 1400's, although only the remains of the tower can be seen, the tower would have formed part of a larger walled complex, within which there would be a cobbled courtyard, and a large hall with kitchen for the family to entertain. The tower has always welcomed people,... More
