Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Hopefield & Simply Bee on Sat Oct 3 & what a fascinating experience. Inside 1 part you can actually observe the bees at work making honey , it is enclosed so very safe . You can also learn about the whole process of the bees lifecycle & the assistant was most helpful explaining where most of the bees are kep that produces all the products that are on sale & it covers just about everything , all forms of potions & lotions. The main shop has all the products & there is a big selection. For those into nature & natural products Simply Bee is worth a visit

Nice little trip to the “Observation Centre” - a big word for the display in the coffeeshop of a working beehive :) - but luckily a knowledgeable guide to tell us the ins and outs of the bee world and a worthwhile visit from that perspective. It is sad to see that the drought is also affecting the bees.
A small successful operation employing > 24 people in the little town of Hopefield with > 500 beehives in the area. Important to notice that only the Fynbos Honey is produced there and all the other honeys are brought in from other areas.
The product range is divine and stopping yourself from buying every single option is not easy! We shopped up a storm and are loving using the various options and specifically the heelbalm.
The only negative would have been that the coffee shop attendant did not have any training. No glasses for our drinks and when asked, she just rinsed them in what did not look like running water and gave them to us wet, which we declined. Also no ice while the drinks could have been colder. She was very sweet though - so please train her so she can be an asset to your business.
The other comment I would like to make is - don’t let people answer the phone if they don’t know the answer to likely questions. But a nice outing with kids for an hour or so.

After purchasing a few Simply Bee products locally we decided as we were heading up the west coast to drop in and buy direct! We were in for a wonderful surprise as not only were we able to buy copious amounts of great products we had the awesome experience of the Bee Observation centre with an educational from the fascinating and very knowledgeable Lizanne. Her knowledge and passion had us all enthralled, we couldn't tear ourselves away. The best part of all was, that evening while chatting to friends we all enthused about bees with our newly gotten facts!

Drove all the way from Cape Town to visit a friend, of whom chose Simply Bee as a meeting point. I was pleasantly surprised by Delicious Cake, and Friendly Staff :)
Premises is inviting, and offers a variety to see from honey production and products, to home decor & nibbly treats.

My friend and I visited the Simply Bee shop next door and then discovered the observation centre. There were two ladies in attendance and they were very friendly. We could observe the bees through a full length glass cubicle in the shop and invited to ask any questions that we had. These were answered informatively and it was very interesting to learn about the bees' life cycle and their habits. There were various honey and beeswax related items and honey for sale and an adjoining shop where various household items and leather bags could be purchased. There were also various photographs on the walls depicting the origin and history of the family business and various implements used for extracting honey in the past on display.A good place to bring children as it is very educational and interesting to see the bees at work.

A multi-purpose stop where old and young will be delighted by the informative talks and the beehive observation center, but there is so much more; lovely cakes - and honey fudge!! All made by local artisans and coffee and other beverages served by friendly staff and then there is a decor shop filled with beautiful pieces perfect as gifts or mementos of your visit.

Simply Bee is a must if you want to pamper yourself. From bath scrubs, facial scrubs, body lotions, shaving creams, honey that is Badger friendly locally sourced. Reasonably priced and they will deliver to your door should you require that. You can also order online from them.
