Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning scene full of history and awe. Council have closed it due to a rockfall. It is a slate hillside and is inherently unstable, having had rockfalls regularly in past years. The walkway is unaffected and not under the loose slate anyway so why it is closed to walkers is a mystery. Surely a notice to the effect of "enter at your own risk" would suffice? Climbing and diving prohibited at present.

Some stunning views from the walk up to the top, you currently either need to walk along to the left and up, or go up the zigzag path just past the round about.
The views from Llanberis view point are stunning, as are the Anglesey Barracks. Catch it at the right time and you will get it in all it's beauty.

For the past 3 years of living in Llanberis, to escape the crowds during the summer months that descend on Snowdon, this is the place to escape and walk. It’s steep through electric mountain but the views are beautiful. There are lots of places to discover up here and explore the history of a once thriving slate quarry that closed in 1969. There are many different routes to take however I usually do a 9 mile walk including the circumference of Llyn Padarn. It really is a beautiful place.

Fantastic visit. When went into one house and was greeted by a woman called ‘Hannah’ she gave us a tour around her home and stayed in character. This brought the experience to life! Thank you so much. A great day.
Thanks you.

A brilliant place to explore, plenty of abandoned houses and machinery, great views from the top, always something new to see around the next corner, you need to be fairly fit for this though as plenty of climbing and uphill walking.

Very interesting, 3 great demonstrations especially the slate splitting with very nice, well informed guy. Workers cottages from byegone times, lots of history, great cafe & shop. Lovely staff, a great day out & no admission charges - amazing.

Gently towering over the the climbing shops of llanberis is llanberis slate quarry and museum. Even though it was a Sunday in June the place wasn’t packed so there was plenty of parking and time to stroll through the slate works and take in all the sights and sounds of a place where people worked hard to supply the world with slate. Entry is free but bring £4 for the car park. The museum gift shop is reasonably priced, and has polite friendly staff. The museum is dog friendly and apart from the quarryers cottages the site is easily accessible.
Pros : it’s packed with history and atmosphere, it’s a very sensibly priced day out.
Cons : none really
