Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful, clean, lovely beach. Very safe for swimming. Safe for children.
Make sure you bring supplies and not much around .

Stayed between Christmas and New Years. The park was booked out, however the way it's set up we still felt like there was plenty of privacy. Beach is pretty rocky, however the kids loved it. On low tide there is a half decent beach near the park entrance. Beautiful view over the bay to Wilson's Prom.

We will be back......

Hard too believe that this beautiful beach barely had a soul on it when I visited. Great spot that you might get too enjoy alone.

TIP: best parking area is where Fish Creek-Waratah rd becomes Gale St or park at lovely playground on corner of Moongana and Gale
TIP: bring lunch from the two shops in Sandy point as there is nothing here at all.

Once a ship called Waratah stopped here for repairs and this is where this stunning bay got it's name. It's another one of the gorgeous beaches on offer in South Gippsland. It's not spoiled... there is no commercialism... simply people enjoying what nature has to offer.

The views are dazzling... you have views across the bay and their hazy blue outlines will incite your imagination.

Look, this is just a basic reserve/beach area. Nothing special about it though I think it's prettier and probably nicer to walk along than the beach at Sandy Point just nearby. From here you can look across to Walkerville and Walkerville South.

There are several parking spots here and there is also a picnic area on the inland side of the road as you drive into town that has amenities. The entire hamlet is very small and has just a couple of accommodation options and outside of them it appears there is no general store (not that I saw).

Of course most people who are in this area are here for Wilsons Promontory but if you want to spread yourself about a bit - or you've done 'the Prom' dozens of times, then checking out the foreshore at Waratah Bay, Ned Neales lookout over at Sandy Point or pottering around Walkerville is not a bad idea.

And don't forget Cape Liptrap Lighthouse which is within striking distance of Waratah Bay if you've based yourself here.

The Waratah Bay foreshore reserve is very secluded, as a stretch of beach, even more so except for only a few small local fishing boats in the distance.

The beach is sandy, but there are several rocky outcrops even waves of flat rock along the foreshore.

I know we visited here during autumn, but this makes it even more private and you have the place all to yourself.

Even the nearby Waratah Bay Caravan Park was almost deserted.

Well, just drive into the place, see the lovely homes and then check out the beach. Then fall on your knees and weep!

Huge beautiful beach. Husband and I spent a few hrs there walking and exploring the rock pools. Plenty of good looking shells and rocks. Great for kids and adults.

Been to beaches all over the world, but this one is tops. Quiet, secluded, clean.
Don't tell anyone.
