A quiet place, underestimated. Nice to relax, and now even better with the Tiptree tea room. The river view is splendid, the old lock very interesting. You may be asked by the skippers to help work it.
Tide was in..sun was shining. Walked from goldhanger road heybridge around the estuary and ended up at the basin lock. Beautifull area. Watched boats coming in through the lock and sat and had a lovely cup of tea at the tearoom. Busy but chilled atmosphere....More
Free car park leading straight onto path with a lovely walk all around the estuary and down the side of the canal. Plenty of boats, barges, birds, flowers to see, with many photographic opportunities.
Very flat and even walk with sea, estuary and canal views.
