Once again, we were just walking by and decided to look inside. Italian churches always hold surprises - some big, others small. Inside were beautiful Murano chandeliers and a Tintoretto painting. Well worth a visit.

The simple brick exterior of this church doesn't do justice to the dramatic interior, which features multi-tiered Murano glass chandeliers and large scale paintings that span entire walls. You'll find beautiful pieces by Tintoretto and Bellini, among others.

Quiet pretty church with interesting paintings. It's at the base of the crossing bridge, so it's worth ducking in and having a look see.

We stopped by early Sunday morning after mass. Take time to enjoy the beauty of this treasure. The art work, marble, wood. Amazing --still beautiful after all these years.

When visiting the area, you end up visiting numerous churches. San Pietro Martire is one to enjoy; it's history is fascinating.

Churches and basiliques on Murano are quite unique and different from the architectural style often seen in Venice. I particularly liked this church for its structure, materials used like the red ocre brick, and also for its wonderful paintings, as some of them take the...More

Unfortunately picture taking inside the church wasn't allowed, but this grand church, at the other side of the canal to the famous "Cometa di Vetro" is worth a visit. In this church you can step inside not hindered by tourists groups, or having to pay...More

With grand Murano chandeliers and significant art within. The church complex is also worth exploring with little court yards whose walls are intermittently studded with fine Roman mosaic portraits of persons important to church history.
