    Loved the setting & spaces
I really enjoyed walking around the beautiful spaces/old house/spacious lawn, even the walk there from the train station was nice & the feel of this place was special, a treat away from the city. There’s a bus (338?) right on the main road going to Karen Blixen Museum which was a spontaneous bonus. Beware at the time, the bus only came once an hour. So glad we experienced the smaller towns & were able to go to these museums & ride the train/bus with the Copenhagen Card.

    Denmark's must-see gallery
This museum is an unexpected delight. It is a rambling building with a real variety of art on show, from live performance, to video, photography, painting, models and sculpture. I saw the Pussy Riot exhibition which was absolutely fascinating and placed recent history in context while also showing the development of the group over the last decade. Downstairs I was awe-struck by the amount of Alberto Giacometti sculptures - a great variety of size too, including the famous walking man. The gardens had more sculptures, include Moore. And the restaurant had good lunch options even for the fussiest eater. Given this gallery is just an hour on the trin from Copenhagen, I'd say it is in the must-see category, even for a short visit to Denmark

    Lovely afternoon.
We came here whilst in Copenhagen on a friend’s recommendation. A nice train ride up the coast and 10 min walk from Humlebæk Station it was easy to get to. Really loved the installations and outside pieces. Great day out.

    Incredible and accessible
I’m not at all qualified to critique art, but this museum was a special experience. We were there when there was a special exhibition about artificial intelligence, and it was clearly very carefully put together. The regular exhibitions were of a similar high standard. Very privileged to have experienced this wonderful artistic interpretation of so many contemporary issues.

    Wonderful museum
What a great museum. You can spend a good three hours there. The outdoor sculpture garden and indoor exhibits both follow an easy circular route. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the metro station. Can’t understand why there’s no shuttle bus, though the walk is pleasant.

    World class museum
Louisiana Museum is absolutely stunning. About an hour train ride from Copenhagen [and a bit of a walk from the train station] the site is magnificent. Directly at the waters edge with a beautiful view of Sweden and rolling green hills. it was a joy to explore the sculpture garden winding around the property. The art collection is world class and the Giacometti room is glorious. The cafe has a magical view with a glorious group of Calder’s. Unequivocally one of the best museums we’ve ever been to and an absolute must for art lovers.

A Wonderful Art Experience in Stunning Surroundings
I had a very nice art experience here in fantastic surroundings. I took the train from Copenhagen, which worked excellently for me in a wheelchair. The museum itself has a wide range of exciting art. It is also well adapted for those of us in wheelchairs.

    Go for art not dining
Gorgeous setting and fascinating galleries. Worth a trip if staying in Copenhagen. Easy train ride and short walk from station. In summer it’s open until 10 pm so you can go late in day as we did and was not very crowded. The cafe disappoints. The dinner menu is expensive and limited. Just not worth it unless. The service and patio setting were terrific.

    Stunning place
Stunning place, excellent permanent collection, very interesting exhibition. The place is beautiful, the museum has a wonderful Giacometti masterpiece section. The restaurant has a breathless view and the food and the service is very good. Access is very easy. Very nice experience.

The museum is very pretty but it's overrated. It's quite far from Copenhagen, pricey and the permanent collection is very average. For me, what paid the trip was the view at the beautiful beach and the temporary exhibition which I recommend you to check first online and go in case it is of your interest (because you need to pay an extra fee to see it). Also, it was very very crowded.

Coming from in danish eyes “relaxed” Sweden it was a shock to see how many people were allowed in the museum. After visiting the modern museum in Malmö yesterday with good rules and not too many people, it was like the Danes had a new test with how many people you could cram into one small place. Even with a booked time slot it was an insane amount of people in today’s day and age, people who did not follow the rules, if you tried to keep distance someone quickly filled the one meter gap between you and the next person. The people working did not say anything about it and if you told them they did not care.

No wonder Denmark cases of the corona virus are rising among the fastest in Europe. We left the museum early and will stay in Sweden from now on.

Strong caveat: check if you like the temporal exhibitions at the webpage first, otherwise its quite some money and time to get there. The location and building are awesome, but the permanent collection is just OK and you can end up checking out temporal exhibitions (which are Louisiana’s piece de resistance) not to your interest. Sadly, this happened to me. All the more if you are not driving there. Plus, it’s awfully crowded, a bit beyond merited in my opinion.

An easy trip from Copenhagen. Depending on how much you like contemporary art, it could be a full day or half day.
Took the train from Central Station for six stops (35 mins) and then about a 15 minute walk from the small train station to the museum. In addition to a sculpture garden, the museum consists of two buildings: the old Villa and a new modern addition. In support of ‘asking before you stand in a long line’, there was a very long line to buy tickets but then a few people were bypassing the line so, since I was using my Copenhagen card I thought maybe I can bypass too, so I showed my card and yes I was in the correct spot.

This was interesting; I’m not a generally a fan of modern or contemporary art but since this museum is world renowned, I knew their exhibitions would be worth seeing. What I particularly wanted to see was the Diane Arbus exhibition of her photos and another person that I didn’t know anything about: Dorothy Iannone. Plus a Kusama installation which is part of their normal collection. These two exhibitions were very large, but I wish the museum had provided more background about the artists, bios, artistic paths, etc. I would have bought a exhibition book for the Iannone exhibit but the shop didn't have any. Their sculpture park is a huge element of the museum and the 45 pieces are sprinkled all around the grounds. Lots of big names, plus many newer artists.

Overall, I wouldn't say I loved it, but I Learned about artists I was unfamiliar with and saw the 'real thing' for artists that I know of. Guess that's the goal of a museum!

I’ve been to many art galleries across Europe and would say that Louisiana has a unique feel, I think it’s the way the art merges seamlessly with the architecture and beautiful surrounds. The art itself was good, I went for the Germany 1920s exhibition but also enjoyed two other temporary exhibitions plus the permanent collection dotted throughout the complex. An advantage of going in November was that the Yayoi Kusama infinity room was very quiet with no queues, I imagine it gets busy at certain times. The star of the museum was the setting, right next to the strait that separates Denmark from Sweden. There was a bracing winter wind but I still enjoyed the sculpture park and being by the coast. I found it easy to get to, a 30-40min train ride to Humlebaek (90 DKK each way) from central Copenhagen and then a pleasant 10min walk. I enjoyed the cafe, though more for the stunning views than the food. All in all a really good visit. On balance I preferred the Arken Museum of Modern Art, which has a comparable setting but attracts fewer people, but the Louisiana was also excellent and must be stunning in summer sunshine.

Louisiana is an institution in Denmark. For decades residing by the see in Humlebæk, with the impressive gardens and monumental sculptures, the exquisite permanent collection, and the always beautiful high-end exhibitions with a slightly thought-provoking edge.

This time we saw zillions of works by women in surrealism. You always hear about the men... Dali, Breton; but never about the women. It would be an understatement to say that this exhibition compensates for this. It really makes the point, and it is a very interesting exhibition with many beautiful pieces of art.

We Danes love Louisiana. We love the place, the art, the shop, the repetitive visits through the years, and the tranquil atmosphere.

Please go, I’m sure you’ll love it, too!

The museum is very nice to visit. We visited it in the morning with prepaid tickets, it wasn’t too crowded and we had time to see everything at a leisurely pace. The only silly thing was that you had to pay for a locker coin, that seems very outdated for a modern museum.

The art here was incredible. There was a whole days worth of art to explore across four wings and an outdoor sculpture park too. There’s a great range of photographs, paintings, multimedia projects and interactive rooms. There’s something for everyone. My only criticism is the restaurant; the food was expensive and had a very limited menu aimed at very developed palettes. There wasn’t another place to eat which is an issue when there’s hours of art to explore.

Excellent museum, beautiful grounds overlooking the sea, great outdoor art, incredibly good restaurant, but cigarette smoking is allowed outside. Difficult to enjoy the food and views while people next to you light up. Why is Europe so lax with smoking?! It’s terrible. Ever heard of cancer from secondhand smoke? At the least, the museum restaurant should dramatically separate where outdoor smoking is allowed and not allowed.

Fantastic museum and grounds.

There was one thing about the place though that I though was remarkable in a negative way. They sold these paper recyclable water bottles with messages about the importance of saving material etc, but then did not serve tapped water in the resultant. Just so incredibly stupid.
