This area is hidden away, and this makes it lovely and quiet to walk around. The cobbled streets and old buildings give it a serenity and peace.

we visit this place regurlarly, since we live nearbye. It's a very authentic , quiet place a absolutely worth a visit ; and you can walk there anytime. Lier is a lovely little town with lots to see or do, only 15 kms from Antwerp

We had a nice stroll of about half an hour through the desolate streets of the 'begijnhof'. Time stood still here. You can the feel history.

The Begijnhof is a very evocative place to wander around. It's quiet and prompts some contemplation of old life and old values. It's generally peaceful.
