Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Park your car at the Darby River car park and walk 2.7 kms along a reasonably good track. There are a few sections which are relatively steep but any reasonably fit person should easily do it. Another review says a couple hours but that is far from the truth. We took under 45 mins and that was stopping taking photos regularly. The beach itself is very secluded and spectacular. The rock formations are stunning and the water so blue. Tips: get there early (before 10am) as this is becoming an instagramers hotspot so get there before the crowds. We had the beach to ourselves but heading back to the car we passed at least 60 people. Also make sure that the tides are low as you cannot set foot on the beach once the tide is high. Finally watch for snakes if walking this trail between September to April. The track is a little overgrown in parts so watch your path and be safe.

My partner and I headed to Wilson’s Promontory for the day (2.5 hours drive one way from Melbourne).
Great little trek through the area and Fairy Cove is a nice secluded beach, had some lunch and soaked up the sun. Tide was a little high so not much swimming but was lovely.
Little hilly to begin with and the return is mostly uphill but nothing too extreme.
Lovely day trip!
