- Mondira G2 contributionsBandhavgarh SafariI am just back from 7 Safaris- Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Pench. We visited Bandhavgarh during 1st week of Nov 2023. We were very very lucky to spot tigers in a very close encounter during our safaris. Not only tigers we saw leopard. Jackals..wild dog..wild cats, deers, peacocks and many more. I wish to thank Mr Mukesh Barman for organising the entire safaris, hotel stay and transport. My friend Mr S Swaminathan, who is a regular visitor to Bandhavgarh, recommended Mr. Barman. And Mukhesh had done it all without any hassle. What I especially liked about Mukesh is that he NEVER took any advance payment which I will never forget this kind gesture. Also the safari driver Mr Ram Behari of Bandhavgarh...superb driving. - Bomi GandhiMumbai, India2 contributionsExcellent Experience at Bandhavgarh National ParkI went to Bandhavgarh National Park along with my family in the last week of December 2023. It was by far the most memorable experiences of my life. The Bandhavgarh National Park encompasses wide range of wildlife on varied terrains and landscapes. We were lucky to spot a Tiger closely especially in December and were thrilled to see a wide variety of animals, birds and flora. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Mr. Mukesh Burman who is a guide at the forest and made all the arrangements for us from booking safaris to making hotel reservations and private car for travel. His stupendous efforts ensured me and my family had a wonderful time. Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Mukesh Burman on his phone number 9425344631 or email id mukeshmpsafari@gmail.com for a similar wonderful experience.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 January 2024

We saw tigers in both our morning and afternoon safari and Deenu’s driving skills were exceptional. Our guide Sateya kept us well informed. Deenu manouvered us up close to waterholes so we could see the wildlife clearly. Our trip was amazing.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 March 2024

- Dipankar_PakhiGhaziabad, India125 contributionsA must visit for all nature lovers coming to Central IndiaA great place to experience the rich wilderness of Central Indian forests. We had a smooth entry process for our safari in Tala zone, subsequent to a transparent reservation system. We were welcomed by a troop of langurs and a variety of birds. The naturalist in our safari vehicle was an experienced person. We also saw herds of spotted deer, quite a few healthy sambar, few gaur. We were lucky to had a glimpse of a tiger. It’s a must visit for any tiger or nature lover visiting this part of India. The park also has a rich history.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 March 2024
- Frances S2 contributionsFantastic experience! We had a wonderful time at Bandhavgargh National park. We saw amazing scenery and wildlife. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and amazing at spotting and pointing things out to us. We had some great sightings of tigers one of which walked past our jeep no more than 4 meters away! Everyone was so great with our 7 and 10 year old who had the best experience ever. Our driver Dinu was absolutely brilliant. Such a great driver and so kind, friendly and helpful. We hope to go back again some day.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 12 April 2024
- SweetraUnited States291 contributionsOutstanding ExperienceThis is a much smaller park than Kanha. The zones are separated and each has its own gate which makes coming and going a lot easier. There’s not a lot of wasted time driving around until we arrive at our designated zone. We were very lucky to have had a very experienced naturalist. He was able to find paw prints and based on his knowledge, know where the Tiger would be going. We saw a tiger at 4 out of 5 safaris we had. The only missed one was Magdhi which is supposedly not too common to spot tigers. We saw a lot of other animals there.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 April 2024

- Kaushik LahiriKalyani, India2 contributionsThird Time Lucky in BandhavgarhWe were a group of 9. We reached Bandhavgarh from Panna National Park on 29th March, 2024, and checked in at Tiger Trails resort, with the amazing hospitality of the manager Shri Mukesh Yadav and his team for the next 4 nights. This was my 3rd trip to Bandhavgarh National Park.We had 7 safaris in totality, 4 in Khatauli, 2 in Tala & 1 in Maghdi zone. Nandu was our gypsy driver in all the safaris. Fantastic and highly enthusiastic person. We sighted Chota Bheem a huge male tiger in Ban Talao in our 1st safari. In our 2nd safari we sighted Dahariya Female. In our 3 rd safari we saw Dahariya Female, Katiwah Female & aagain Chota Bheem with a majestic stroll. In our 4th and last safari in Khitauli we sighted Katiwah Female in Ban Talao with her 3 cubs for hours. We were not luckly to spot tigers in our safaries at Maghdi and Tala. A leopard was sighted at dusk in Tala. The landscapes of both these zones were amazing. The Tiger Trails resort is a mid budget resort with amazing food, both Veg & Non Veg, at Lunch & Dinner. Menu was changed every day. The resort has a natural feel of the forest. Rooms are Ok. The entire staff was highly cooperative and guest friendly. Last but not the least, Shri Mukesh Burman, a very popular personality of Bandhavgarh, organised our trip to Bandhavgarh in a hassle free manner. He booked the safaris, arranged the Gypsies, provided best drivers of his team for the safaris, booked the resort and provided us with 2 Innova's for our entire 8 nights 9 days trip covering Panna Bandhavgarh and Sanjay Dubri. Amazed by his knowledge of Bandhavgarh. He is also a guide in Bandhavgarh for decades. Many many thanks for the excellent services provided by Shri Mukesh Burman during our trip at a very reasonable price. 9425344631 is Mukesh Burman's cell number & mukeshmpsafari@gmail.com is his mail ID. You can contact him for his services & guidance. Will love to visit again.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 15 August 2024

Fantastic experience. We stayed at Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge which was excellent. Amazing food and service. We had booked 6 safaris and our guide from the lodge was very knowledgeable. He took time to show us other wildlife and birds. There are working elephants in the park, we saw 4. Our guide told us that they work 4 hours a day and they do not carry tourists. They are there to get into areas a jeep can't to monitor tiger health. We had 2 sightings which were in a way humbling, such a beautiful animal. 20 jeeps allowed at one time and we never felt crowded, our first tiger sighting we were alone.

Recently we visited Bandhabgarh National Park from 12.10.21 to 13.10.21 with my son. We booked Jungle Safari through Shri Mukesh Baraman(mukeshmpsafari@gmail.com, 9425344631) . We visited Tala and Maghdhi Zone for 2 safaris. We spotted different kind of animals at Tala Zone and able to find a tiger from a distant place but could not see any tiger in morning safari at Maghdhi Zone. Our tour was organized by Shri Mukesh Barman who has vast experience in this line. He guided us and driver arranged by him was an amazing person and he tried his best for find out tiger.
We stayed at Blue Lotus Safari Resort, a newly constructed one, booked by Shri Mukesh Barman and this resort was a wonderful place to stay in surrounded by lush green jungle and the staff here is very helpful and humble. Food served by them is very tasty . Besides, you can enjoy time in swimming pool over there.
We recommend all who are planning to visit Bandhabgarh National Park ,take service of Mukesh Barman and also give a try to stay in Blue Lotus Safari Resort.

We spent 6 days here on 7 game drives looking for tigers and got 1 great sighting! It was winter so it's much more difficult than summer months, but the experience was great and very different than African safaris so definitely worth it during a trip to India.
We booked our safari permits, vehicles and driver through Mukesh Burman who is local to Tala and was recommended on here. Initially, it was not as easy to communicate through email (I think he prefers whatsapp), but we were able to pick a schedule and get bookings done when reservations opened. I paid a deposit by wire from Canada and the rest was due after the safari ended. The price is marked up for the services of having someone local booking for you, a nicer jeep with no sharing, and having the same driver each game drive (he was a good driver with limited English that got us the front jeep position when following a Tigress along a dirt path for a full 5 to 10 minutes). When we arrived to India, it was easier to communicate with Mukesh and he met us in person a few times which was nice. He referred me to another guide who arranged my safaris in Kanha as well.
Overall, this was a worthwhile visit and it takes patience, but you will be rewarded. Go in the summer if you want to guarantee tiger sightings and definitely do a lot of game drives to improve your chances. If you are no familiar with the MP system or indian websites, hire someone like Mukesh to help you and arrange private maintained vehicles with reliable drivers, although you will pay more than booking yourself or if using your hotel.

We spent 2 days here, going on 3 separate safari tours, and they were all excellent. The jeeps are not the most comfortable, and the guides not the most talkative (or at least the 3 that we had), but they were happy to answer all of our questions and were very knowledgeable. The drivers are also very skilful, and although they stick to the designated 'roads' the terrain still requires some navigating.
We saw lots of wildlife during the safaris, but the aim of the game was to see tigers, which we managed on 2 of our safaris. Both times were very close, and provided a real thrill. The only downside was the temperature, particularly during the morning safaris, but our hotel provided blankets which helped enormously. Would definitely recommend a trip here.

Did we see Tiger? Yes we did. Was it probably the worst wildlife viewing experience of our lives? Yes it was.
The drives and guides here have become myopic and obsessed to the point of madness with chasing down Tiger sightings. They drive like idiots over dusty roads, desperately trying to deliver a Tiger viewing at whatever cost and no matter the quality or impact on the animals. Surrounded and buried in a bush surrounded by 20 jeeps? Tick! Job done. As long as everyone gets a selfie with the poor animal.
Complicit in this are the idiots of Indian Forestry who run the parks, with no apparent strategic plan for the Parks and their wildlife.
A friend told me Id hate it and not to go. I wish I had listened to him. Go to Kanha instead.

We took 5 safaris in Bandhavgarh totalling 17 hours and didn’t see a single tiger in mid-December.
We visited Tala zone in the afternoon twice and once in the morning and visited Magadhi in the morning and afternoon and the best that 5 different guides and drivers could muster was 2 tiger footprints in the dirt and hearing a tiger growling in the background but not a single sighting.
The weather was clear and Bandhavgarh is listed as having the best chance of seeing a tiger in all of India as the density of Bengal tigers is apparently second to none.
The driver’s and guide’s tactics seem to race around the park as fast as possible when entering in the vain hope that a tiger will be on the road and when nothing then they stop and listen for warning calls from other animals that would signify a tiger might be present. The Jeeps have to stick to the roads so can’t access much of the park. The final tactic is to hope that someone else sees a tiger and then race around to that location but more often than not that is a tall story of a possible tiger.
The best indicator that the lack of tigers is the norm is the sign on the way out saying “Don’t be disappointed if you haven’t seen a tiger, they will have seen you”…

We had booked 2 safaris from Mukesh Barman and our guide from Mukesh barman was very knowledgeable. He took time to show us other wildlife and birds. We chase the tigeress for more than 1 hr and finally did a spotting. It was a awesome experience. On that day out of 16 gypsy safari only ours were the one who were lucky to spot tigress. All credit goes to Mukesh Barman and his team with full knowledge of jungle.Must visit this National Park and Must do only Mukesh barman as Guide for booking of Safaris.

yeah Bandhavgarh trip is perfect destination if u r looking for wild life safari and want to see tiger roaming in jungle . But Most important thing is to spot a tiger that here comes a vital role of Your safari guide and overall trip planner . Our complete trip was planned by Mr Mukesh Burman and he is amazing guy he planned safari resorts every thing in well advance and well managed. I recommend everyone to connect or take a plan once with him if planning to visit Bandhavgarh. His number : 9425344631
Small suggestion: we spot tiger in Khitauli core zone . So just before planning your trip check with local guide in which zone tiger density is higher that time

We’ve just returned from an amazing trip to Bandavgarh National Park. The sheer variety of fauna and flora we saw is mind boggling.
See paragraph at end for how to book safari permits which you should do as soon as your trip dates are finalised.
Best to book your safari vehicle, in advance, where the driver is crucial to enjoying all that Bandhavgarh offers. The guide, a must to entering the forest, may or may not be well informed/ communicate well.
We saw FOUR different tigers in Tala and Magdhi. And narrowly missed 2 in Khitauli.
However, even if you miss spotting a tiger, the forests are rich with Spotted deer, Sambar deer, Nilgai, Gaur, Langur, monkey, mongoose, wild elephant (Khitauli only), jackal, and an amazing variety of birds including an abundance of gorgeous peacocks.
Tala and Magdhi zone contain grassland as well as Sal trees. They’re dotted with man made and natural water bodies. It’s quite pleasant in the forest even at 11 am.
Khitauli is different .. lots of rocks and boulders and fewer Sal trees. We even saw tendu and wild basil among others.
The forest, is full of sounds.. many many bird calls, also when tiger movement happens, a variety of alarm call sounds from monkeys to peacocks.
Strongly recommend a visit here. You’ll be mesmerised.
Forest Permit booking
Prior to our trip I recommend you get your safari permits to avoid reaching there and being unable to get into the forest core zones.
Do keep at least 2 days for safari .. note: Wednesdays there is only a morning safari.
Safari timings are 6:15-11:30 am and 3:15-6:30 pm
Note: please carry printouts of the permits and your photo iD used for the bookings.

My family and I did 7 safaris over 3 days across all three core zones of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in March 2023 and every safari was a breath taking experience. While we love chasing and sighting tigers, we equally love the experience of going into the jungle and becoming one with Mother Nature. In both regards, Bandhavgarh did not disappoint - the Magadhi zone was possibly the prettiest forest we have been to and each tiger we saw had character and a thrilling back story. We saw 8 tigers but the highlight was a solo sighting of a tigress by the name of Darraha Bachhi - we were fortunate enough to stumble upon her on our way out of the park and we were the only jeep there. The tigress was by herself resting on the road. She started slowly walking up the road the moment she saw us but not before giving us ample photo opportunities. We followed her trail for a good 5 minutes before she decided to go into the bushes and vanish. The entire experience was put together by TravelGleam Wild (9958993316, 9899954675) whom I highly recommend. The owner Sourabh is an authority on Indian jungles and tigers and carefully crafts the experience. The driver cum guide Banty organized by TravelGleam was clearly the best in the business and we credit our awesome experience largely to Bantys experience and enthusiasm

am travelling with 7 people. How should I book as full vehicle allows only 6 people names. Also, what is the difference between full vehicle and single booking? Does full vehicle means we can take our own car inside?
Written 24 November 2021
No...only govt approved jeeps are allowed inside the forest that also duly accompanied by a guide. Both the jeep and guide charges are payable to govt counter at each gate who are alloted by a queue system
A full jeep means 6 including kids..the 7th person will have to book as a single passenger or could book a full jeep of 4 and 3...so that u have the whole vehicle to your self. We were 8 and we booked for 4 and 4...hope this helps

The Government of India has announced that it will suspend all existing visas due to an ongoing outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). This will come into effect from 12:00 GMT 13th March 2020 to 15th April 2020 at the port of departure.

Which zone is better for safari? And how do I book permit for safari?
Written 10 November 2018
Tala or Magdhi zone, we saw many tigers in both zones. However, Tala is a more beautiful area of the park. You can book through the park website or have a tour operator book them for you.

I have booked a single seat from forest mp online website for 250rs.
Now on the day of the safari, if the other members of my jeep are not present, if i end up alone....
At that point howmuch will it cost me to do the safari?
I mean if that happens then i have to book the jeep, safari and guide all by myself, howmuch will be the total cost?
And if all members of the jeep are present, then what will be the total cost?
I will be going in May 2018.

Gypsy in Bandhavgarh is allotted from Booking Office. If you have your morning safari, go one evening before to the Booking counter and understand the process. Amount need to be deposited their for Guide & Gypsy, and its allocated from Booking office and not from entry gate.
You can take help of your hotel people, in case they are not charging extra for same. Otherwsie just go and understand process once at booking office.
Its better to get the process done well before as in last moment their's huge rush of all sort of people.
