I've been here three times. It's just lovely. Enjoy the blue of the grotto and the men on the boats chatting to each other. It's a lovely respite from the heat. Wish we could take a dip from time to time!

Visited Melissani Cave as part of an organised tour from our hotel. A truly wonderful experience at this natural phenomenon. There can be a queue at busy periods and take a fleece as it can surprisingly chilly below ground.

This visit was part of our one day island tour. It proved very popular. There is a reasonably steep incline before you reach the cave so anyone with mobility problems may find it difficult. The boat trip is good and the guides know how to...More

The caves were only about 20 minutes away from our hotel so we thought we'd go and have a look. The caves are underground and cost is €7 each adult. This includes a boat ride that takes about 20 minutes. Our boat guide was very...More

The cave is on kefalonia one of the ionian islands, nowhere near mykonos or santorini, you would need to fly into kefalonia or get a boat from athens which i think takes 6 hours. Also there is relatively no public transport... More
