MV Victoria is not working and nobody knows anything. For the moment there's no ferry service on the lake. I went there in February 2017 - but the watchman was not able to tell anything.

Sadly this ferry is no longer in operation. Engine failure made the service between Mwanza and Bukoba come t a halt. New ferry is promised by the president but still not in service up to now (November 2016)

There is nothing better than watching the sunset of Victoria. I would recommend anyone to visit. However, the mosquitos/ lake flies in the evening are not friendly. So much to do!

The boat was for us the nicest way to cross from Uganda (bis from Kampala to Bukoba) to the western access into Serengeti (so we did not have to do a loop from and to Arusha). Apparently the roads between Bukoba and Mwanza are still...More
