Couldn’t really understand why this was 3300 JPY for the entrance, even though I appreciate the fact there is a lot of work that has gone in to recreating all of the art on display in this museum. Having traipsed through most of the building I was exhausted and bored and had to go back to the car for a nap. Wouldn’t recommend it at all

Before going, I didn't think much about it and thought that it would just be fakes, but when I saw the real thing, it wasn't so bad. Especially the Sistine Chapel right after entering was amazing. Even though it was a ceramic print of a photograph, it must have been very difficult to take a good photo of it and reproduce it at full size. The size of the ceramic plate for each work is fixed, so it's still a concern that the lines will get in the middle, but when it's as big as the chapel, it doesn't bother me. After all, photography is prohibited in the real thing, so you can't take such good photos. The museum is huge, so if you're interested in paintings, I recommend going first thing in the morning. I walked around quickly and it took me 5 hours to see everything, so please take that into consideration. In the Paris museums, the Orangery was not very cooperative, so there were not many works. The Louvre and Orsay were very cooperative. But if you think the works here are amazing, go see the real thing. You'll be even more impressed.

We were considering a bus tour, but decided to visit by car. It's conveniently located near the highway and interchange from Osaka. From the parking lot, you can take a private bus to the museum. (Free parking)

Even with the original ticket, you can get a 10% discount on your smartphone! I recommend it because you can enter smoothly without having to line up.

The ceilings were high and the atmosphere was luxurious. Our purpose was to see Renaissance paintings and paintings famous on TV, etc. We were satisfied to be able to enjoy them, and I'm glad lunch wasn't too expensive.

Yes everything is fake, but a very well made fake. I have seen many of the originals in their respective museums, so it is a joy to see them in one place. Parking is not on site, they provide bus to the museum. Price is steep, little discount (no time stamp) buying on line. No guards to watch our every move, so liberating! Restaurant and cafe are well priced (like most of the restaurants in Japan).

This is a museum that exhibits ceramic panel paintings that are the same size as the originals of famous paintings from around the world.
I didn't have high expectations because they were just copies, but I was surprised! The way the space itself was faithfully reproduced, like the Sistine Chapel or Monet's Water Lilies, was very impressive. Even deterioration and damage were reproduced.
It's almost impossible to find all the world's famous works such as Guernica and The Last Supper in one place, so even though they were reproductions, I enjoyed them.
The museum is very large, and the viewing route is about 4km long. You'll need plenty of time and comfortable shoes.

It's a facility that looks like it was carved out of a mountain, and it's a display of the financial might of the Otsuka group.

I suppose it's positioned as a patronage project, but personally I feel it's in bad taste.

The admission fee is too high, they've made too much profit.

It's a replica, so I think 500 yen should be appropriate. If it's a facility that Otsuka wants to brag about, I don't think it's right to reflect the construction and maintenance costs in the ticket price.

Famous paintings from around the world are reproduced on ceramic plates. It's a very large museum, and it takes about 2 hours to walk around it. Since I went on a weekday, it was empty and I was able to take my time to admire the famous paintings. You can also take photos without using a flash.

Due to the time limit of 120 minutes for the tour, I took the floor map and looked at only what I wanted to see. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the museum's opening, and it is the world's first ceramic panel masterpiece museum. The museum was established in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture, as a project to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Otsuka Group, and has one of the largest permanent exhibition spaces in Japan. I also enjoyed Van Gogh's Seven Sunflowers.

Wonderful place that captures all the famous of the world paintings like Mona Lisa, Last Supper and more. The Otsuka foundation commissioned artists to make copies of the world famous paintings and displace them for the benefit of the Tokushima people. 5 level full of paintings.

Disappointed with the volunteer guide.
I participated in a volunteer guided tour of seven major works. No knowledge gained despite spending 40 minutes. This is the only place where people can come together, even if this many works are not real. I enjoyed participating in the event because of my expertise, but it started out of the blue, the explanation was thin, and my voice was hard to hear.
If you catch a glimpse of the guide's tour after the tour is over, it's a big difference, and if you're going to be the official guide, make an effort to match the quality. I even wanted my 40-minute stay back. If you're there, if you find it boring at the beginning, join the next tour.
