I don't visit museums often, not really my cup of tea lol. However, when I was in this area, I thought i'd give it a try. Went with a close friend to see what the hu ha was all about and I was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about heritage etc. I don't think I'd visit... More

We were in Bridgewater on vacation and since it was raining on our first day, we decided to visit some of the local museums. The first was The DesBrisay Museum. It’s a nice small museum dedicated to local history. When we were there in early June, they had a great exhibit on Mi’kmaq Culture, a Gallery dedicated to Judge DesBrisay... More

The owners are lovely and very kind. My friend volunteered here with the Katimavik program and had a great experience.

I went in to check out some of Bridgewaters history. None of the exhibits that I saw had to do with Bridgewater but had to do with the surrounding communities. Very disappointed.

we wre staying in Bridgewater and wanted to learn a little about the area. The DesBrisay was a very nice local museum with exhibits about the history of the eara. There was a special exhibit about some of the local families, but the most interesting was about the native Mi'kmaq people.

We stopped here after the staff at the Wile Carding Mill Museum told us about it. Since it was Saturday, admission was free. There was lots of interesting exhibits, each with challenges and hands on activities for the kids to do. The display on working women was well done.

The last time I visited the DesBrisay I learned a lot about the culture and history of our area. The desplays are wonderful and the staff very knowledgeable. The park and pond are also worth the visit.
