Massive shame but what could be beautiful parks and waterfalls have been ruined with cheap attractions for kids. Walked up to the waterfall to a 100+ queue to take photos at the top which no one would let us pass so walked back down. Seating area by restaurant filled with a boat group smoking and shouting. Nothing much to say about the cafe which was out of everything. …

Thank you so much for your feedback about your visit last August. Last year was an unprecedented year for us due to Covid-19 we saw high levels of visitors on several days but we reacted very quickly to put in place regulations to make everyone feel safe. We are working hard this year on implementing more control measures to ensure we do not have any queues at the top of the waterfall. Every Wednesday the Boat club uses the lake for their model boats, usually this is a wonderful thing to watch and a source of delight for the young and old but I will be sure to mention your feedback to them. We have two wooden adventure playgrounds, with an aromatic planted Green Ship for children which we have worked hard to be sympathetic to the attraction and are there to offer a fun day out for the whole family.

It's a steep climb but well worth it. If you have walking disabled with your party there's a bench for them to sit on until your return.

With not much open in Devon during our visit, we chose Canonteign Falls over some others and weren't disappointed! Some challenging walking in the damp but comfortable enough even for our 4 year old. Gorgeous wooded walks up to the top of the waterfall with added surprises along the way. Stunning views at the top! Our boys enjoyed the parks at the bottom too! There was a lack of ducks when we visited so we ended up taking duck food home 🙈 Even though we knew it was a man made waterfall, you can't really tell that until you get right to the top and see the metal work etc which was a bit strange. *Special mention to the very friendly welcome at the start. …

Absolutely beautiful walk with lots of little surprises on the way. Quite steep though and a bit of a climb but completely worth it once you get to the top. The fern garden was my favourite, reminded me of jurassic Park. The lakes surrounding the area are also really pretty. Expensive to enter the park though.…

We visited as part of ‘locals weekend’. Was so worth the visit. We firstly had coffees from the shop (filter coffee okay, sausage bap not worth the money). We then walked up to the main waterfall- there are little water falls on the way up, a beautiful woodland walk and a fairy trail as well as sculptures (like an amazing dinosaur). Some of the ground is slippy and steep so would recommend walking boots. The view from the top of the waterfall is amazing! Lots of opportunities to also find different types of fungi on the walk. We then walked around all the beautiful lakes and the poet’s corner. A lovely refreshing walk. We just stayed for the morning, but if you take children there are play areas, so you could definitely make a day of it! Great photo opportunities- would definitely go back and recommend to others! …
