Had the promise of being s very interesting place, but, if you cannot get in to have a look, it turn into a waste of time and mileage.

Had a wonderful day. A good price for myself and the girls. The exhibits were really neat especially the diving helmet and the mutton bird kete. The pictures had interesting stories with them too.

I spent nearly an hour at Bluff Maritime Museum. There is a lot to see in a small space, including an oyster boat that you can go inside! At $5 for an adult it's clear it is a labour of love, and for this reason I'm giving it 5 stars!

Fantastic wee museum for a little NZ town. Loved the two interactive engines, displays and all the information. Bluff is a fascinating little town and this museum shares its history proudly. Stop by for an hour and enjoy!

When in Bluff a visit to this museum is essential, and at a modest cost of NZ$3, it ain't going to break the bank!
There's a good cross section of seagoing artifacts and other items of interest.
The curator on duty was able to add more detail to the exhibits.
Frankly, Bluff has little else to commend it other than the 'end of the world' signpost, so a visit here is a good way to spend an hour or so on the road back to Invercargill.

This museum is small but well worth an hour visit. We learned so much about the maritime history of this area. Get a token to see the engine from the barge work, climb on a real oyster boat, watch a video on the historic lighthouse on Dog Island and read lots of history as you walk through the rooms and look at the photos and artifacts. Small fee is for a great value experience. Knowledgeable curator was helpful too. It is suitable for all ages as there is something that will interest everyone.

Arrived at 3.30 paid the entry fee (it is scheduled to close at 4.30 according to the sign outside) Asked the old lady staff member where the toilets are she got really annoyed, When I had been to the toilet she said we had to leave at 3.50 she was closing because she wanted to go shopping! SOOO RUDE The museum it would have been nice to have more time than 15 minutes to look

Cheap entry fee of $3.00 per adult. Quite informative for the size of the facility with a few very good exhibits. Well worth stopping for a look.

If your staying in Invercargill a visit to the bluff museum (22kms away) is worth the effort. The displays are good and the price reasonable.
The only downside is the grumpy woman on the counter who, because we arrived at 3.30 (it is scheduled to close at 4.30 according to the sign outside) got the huffs and told us we had to leave at 3.50, because she wanted to go shopping!..unbelievable.

Nice little local museum. Full of bits and pieces and interesting stories. The information about the pardoned soldier is particularly moving.
