Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A little off the beaten path this is definitely a market for the locals. There is a variety of vegetables and meat for sale and the usual sarongs and knock off items close by.
The food is authentic Thai- I usually try to find places like this to eat as you are supporting the locals and you will get a great meal for 1/3 to 1/2 the price you’d pay at your resort where the money is likely going to a foreign investor.

Come and experience this local market. If has all of the smells and sights you’d expect of a market that the locals use.
As a tourist you probably won’t buy anything, apart from maybe some fruit or a hot Issan sausage, but this is a place you visit to experience Chewang as a local, not to shop.
Come and walk around, you’ll love it.

We ate at the restaurant in the corner which the red colour scheme. Our host was very nice and accommodating. The food was delicious, I had green curry with rice (not so spicy). The bill was really cheap to boot.

Food is cheap and good, we ate here a couple of times and enjoyed it.

My wife and I visited this market to buy cloth and have a look around. To buy Thai cloth, trinkets, etc, it is definitely much cheaper than the various night markets and other places around Koh Samui. Also, it appears to be an authentic market where the locals shop for their supplies. It did not once occur to me to buy any food from any of the vendors, as it was too authentic for my liking, with the cleanliness not being of a standard I'd expect. However, to see a real market and spend an hour or two mingling with the locals, it is worth a visit, especially given its immediate proximity to the boxing stadium and walking street/food market in Chaweng

This food market was right opposite our hotel and we ate there on several occasions. It is an open air so hope it isn't raining! Set right next to the main boxing stadium, it offers an excellent atmosphere and a really fun experience.
It is a strange situation as there are several outlets but they all seem to serve each other's customers? No matter, the food is fabulous and it is very, very cheap. It puts most of the restaurants in town to shame.
They have stalls that sell drinks but we used to nip across to the 7-Eleven right opposite and buy our booze from there. Definitely worth seeking out.

An interesting food market selling veg, fruit, fish and meat.
This is the place locals go to buy their produce.
It is worth taking an hour out for a stroll around and buy like a local.
I was there to get out of the monsoon rain which swept in for an hour or so.

This market in Koh samui serves authentic Thai cuisines. One can enjoy street food here with all Thai flavours. Street shopping and food will make one feel more thai.

Hi, this market is permanent. There is a big market that's set up on different weekdays in different villages, i.e. Lamai Sunday Market every Sunday between around 16 - 22 DON'T MISS IT! Shopping is very good and cheap, food nice and cheap and also drinks 60 THB. I think it's in Maenam on Thursdays etc...
