We have stayed near Icod de los Vinos a few times but never got round to visiting the doll museum until recently. It is a fascinating place set in a beautiful garden. The owner was so kind and helpful and we enjoyed his demonstration of doll making after looking around by ourselves. Our daughter particularly liked helping to finish off the doll moulds. Then we had delicious almond cake made by his wife (thank you for the recipe!) and a drink in the small cafe. Definitely worth a visit.

We drove here on the off chance. I’m not a doll fan but thought the kids might enjoy it. I ended up being more interested than the kids. When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman (can’t remember his name) who gave us a guided tour around the museum and answers every question we asked. We then went on to the workshop where he showed us how the dolls were made and the process. Good value for the money and also has a little shop at the end..

Located midway up the mountains, in beautiful surroundings of palm trees, lizards and cacti was the perfect setting for this wonderful museum.
On arrival, the owner- Georg - was friendly and welcoming and showed us the way to an amazing vast collection of rare dolls and teddy bears. My expectation was that these would be a random mix of toys from across the world when in fact they were all rare collectors toys some of which original works of art with stories attached to them. It felt like we had an exclusive access to a personal collection of unique dolls. Georg’s passion and knowledge was evident as he described the process of making porcelain dolls allowing us a hands on demonstration of the process. We left the museum feeling that we had experienced something unique and found a new appreciation for the art of doll making and the value in the collection.
Will we go away and purchase our own limited edition dolls made from a specialist artist? Probably not but it has certainly been a highlight of our holiday so far, away from the hustle bustle of the South in a beautifully tranquil part of the island.
Georg was also a glass artist and we couldn’t resist purchasing a few glass angels as presents to put out at Christmas as a nice reminder of a hidden part of Tenerife.
If you have a hire car we highly recommend you make the beautiful journey through the mountains to Icod de los Vinos to visit the tiny doll museum and enjoy some of the other picturesque attractions such as the 800 year old dragon tree that this mountainous town has to offer.

We looked up some interesting places to visit and I couldn’t help but notice all the good reviews of this puppet museum. They were absolutely spot on. You will meet a very passionate man ( or his wife which we didn’t meet ) about his collection of dolls & teddybears. He gives a lot of information about the artists & how they are made etc etc. Didn’t think I would find it this interesting as it was 😅 This is a perfect combination when you are visiting the Drago Butterfly Park as well. It REALLY is worth your time!

Firstly we were made to feel very welcome. Being an old finca,or farm that had been converted, the exhibitions were in several buildings. This was explained to us by Georg the Austrian owner in English. We were left to wander and promised a demonstration of porcelain doll-making at the end. There are 600+ dolls and teddy bears. The exhibits are of dolls made by true artisans in limited editions. Each has its own character and style whether it is made of porcelain, wax, cloth or papier-mâché. A real delight and the chat with owner so informative. Definitely a place to visit as an adult.

The museum is a little bit outside of the usual turistic areas of Tenerife, which made the trip a part of the experience. We appreciated it very much, getting to see real local small cities. The museum has a part with teddybears and a part with dolls. The dolls are very impressive, and disturbingly real. After viewing everything, the owner gave us a tour, explaining how to make a doll, and the most extrodinariy dolls that he has. A very pleasent afternoon, can defenitely be recommended to others. We are a couple, 28 and 22 years old. The museum closes at 6 pm (dont remember when it opens), its closed on mondays, and its 10 EUR. We were in car, and it was very easy to find.

we went there just to pass some time, but once we we started the tour it was very interesting, didn't believe i was gonna like the dolls so much being a man, and dolls being generally a girl thing. the host was very informative about the process it takes to doll making and even about the collections they got there. he even gave us a discount on the stuff we bought from the souvenir shop.

The idea of visiting a doll museum was my daughter's and I went along thinking I wasn't going to be that interested. However, once there to my surprise I found that there was a lot more to the whole craft of doll making than meets the eye. Beautiful setting and well laid out museum with a fantastic garden. The owners are very obliging and give you a detailed insight into the creative process. A unique experience.
