Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Admission 3 euros for adults, free for children, includes access to the church and the Baglioni Chapel. I was speechless because it feels like entering that world. It is worth a visit. It is forbidden to take pictures throughout the church and you cannot get too close to the frescoes. Also in the chapel you walk over a glass protection that lets you see a beautiful antique floor.

Of course there are the very famous and excellent frescoes by Pinturicchio, unmissable for painting enthusiasts. Then there are the opening hours (very lucky to have managed to get in by the skin of my teeth). Then there's the nice old man at the entrance who for €3.00 (well spent anyway) provides a tiny pink slip to all the young ladies and gentlemen (he says so) who enter. Perhaps such masterpieces deserve more structured and professional management.

Unlike the previous reviewer I had no objection at all to paying a little to be able to see inside the chapel. It was only two euros, I think. The person who opened it was friendly and informative.

The frescoes are not only absolutely gorgeous in a decorative, artistic sense, but also full of absorbing detail, meaning and human sympathy, and deserve plenty of time. If possible read something about them before you go in.

Various books are on sale next to the chapel. I bought one on Pinturicchio. I think perhaps I should also have bought one on just these frescoes.

No photographs allowed. Good.

Chapel is so accessible, can walk right up to frescoes for detailed viewing. Able to walk on protected tile floor for exceptional vantage point.

The Baglioni family, nobles of Spello, commissioned the frescoes to both artists.]These are breathtakingly beautiful and visible close up. Some resoration work is still being carried out as the church was hit by the 2016 earthquake.

Unexpected pleasures are always the sweetest and (while we were expecting Spello to be the gloriously beautiful village that it is), we had not expected the magnificence of this artwork. And so much the sweeter that we could enjoy it all on our own.

Currently under repair inside but honestly I don’t mind paying three Euros per person to help in the restoration. We need to help preserve stuff like this. Incredibly gorgeous inside

If you're a fan of medioeval paintings (like Botticello) you must see this chappel of PINTURICCHIO, Italian Early Renaissance (ca.1454-1513)! It costs 2 Euro for adults but it's absolutely woth it!! Free parkings are downhill.

The Cappella Baglioni should be open to visitors from 9-18:00 and free to visit. Many people come from all over the world to see one of the only important works of art in Spello, and to find it closed is a shame.
