Lovely gardens, ideal for a walk! They were designed and laid out by Charles-Alexis de Montpellier in the 18th century. The gardens combine three styles: French, Italian and English. There is also a castle, but it’s not possible to visit it.

Great little garden to stroll around on a autumn day. Wonderful vistas that suddenly appear. Definitely worth the entrance fee.

It’s lovely to see formal French gardens executed with the novelty of dozens of water features dating back centuries. Crystal waters, like those of the Test or Itchen, and well maintained, but not too fussy. Plenty of colour even in September, and promising crops and...More

A very good attraction: we liked the range of different fountains, streams and styles, with open formal gardens, more intimate paths, and wilder meadow areas. Really impressive that all the water within the site is powered by gravity alone. Extensive in size, with helpful notices...More

Popped in here for an hour or so whilst cycling down the Meuse (only 500m from the river) as it had been recommended by friends. The water features - fountains, water falls lakes etc. didn't disappoint and were unlike anything we'd seen before so it...More

We've visited the gardens last week on a sunny day. There weren't a lot of other visitors so all was very relaxed and quiet. The gardens are a delight to see, The landscaping is more important than the collection of plants and flowers. The waterworks...More

I love the sound of pounding water. Wether it’s the waves, a waterfall or a fountain. Ten generations of the “de Montpellier” family, whose roots go back to the middle of the fifteenth century, have contributed to create this gem in a beautiful and lush...More

I prefer to give more than less but 3,5 would be more appropriate. It's nice to visit if you are around or pass by but I wouldn't recommend to go 50km just to see it. Unless you love to relax hearing water all around you...More
