Interesting if someone tells you the story behind all the small symbols on the statue. Its located on the way from Tren Blindado to Loma del Capiro

I love the Che statue, his eyes gazing forward to a hopeful future while many tribulations are discernable around his body.

We stopped here on our way to the Armoured Train in Santa Clara. Unfortunately our guide did not explain (know?) the significance of all the intricate detail, but, even so, it would not have been worth a detour

to be honest I spected more from this. The statue is good, with full of details but nothing more. Far away from the city, kind of hide in the street. You can avoid it if you dont have enough time.

Another form of Che Guevara, I actually thought it would be much bigger but it is actually life size. What I liked most about it were the sall detail (for example the army coming out of his belt and so on)

Fidel planned for a lot of people to visit Che's mausoleum... the site is huge and imposing. Che's burial niche is restricted - no cameras, no talking, no bags. (We got around the "no bags" by taking turns going in; otherwise you have to check...More

We went with our tour group and I recommend going with a local who can explain each of the elements. By itself it’s a stunning statue, but been shown the smaller elements, like slot in his back representing him being stabbed in the back in...More

The child on the goat is a reference to Che's childhood and him riding away from the safety and security of his family in Argentina into parts unknown.
