great place to get a 15 minute history lesson. The old flag on the wall is pretty cool. 42 stars. Its from just after Arizona became a state.

Since I, quote literally, live around the corner from this landmark, I sometimes take for granted it's uniqueness. I am surprised by the number of visitors this little log cabin schoolhouse gets, all year long. It's not fancy and it's not a big venue, but...More

Since we were going to be in the area on Friday, I called ahead earlier in the week and requested that a volunteer meet us at the school house. She was kind enough to meet us there, told us some great stories, and the kids...More

Perhaps the best example of an old 1 Room Schoolhouse that I've ever seen. Worth the quick detour to see, made from huge original hewn logs over 100 years ago. Open Sat, Sun only or by appmt only other times apparently, so call ahead for...More

I took a drive to Strawberry to escape the Phoenix June heat. Love Strawberry! Nice laid back country small town. The school house is a bit of a drive from the main highway, but worth the trip. I did not tour the inside (as I...More

I've always thought little one-room schoolhouses are adorable. This one is no exception. Though I wish we'd been able to go on a day when it's open (weekends only) it was still a great experience. I would love to go back when it's open and...More

So glad it was open when we stopped over. We've tried to visit before without success. Such a fabulous time capsule! The kids really got an eye opening experience with the visit...and seeing now 'how easy they have it'. Would recommend a visit to anyone!

I enjoyed the slice of history and the beauty of the rustic charm of this little building that held our nation's pioneer children in the quest for an education

It's furnished with the period of the time school furniture. My dad went to school in a one room school house so this was fun to see. I'm glad I stopped by.

We love to see old places being preserved like this. We like the way it keeps long gone days alive. Unfortunally when we were there the school wasn't open for tours. We strolled around this beautifull old buidling, peeked in the windows and wondered how...More
