About an hour drive from Lijiang, big disappointment. Although the Bend has a rich history, there really is nothing to look at, just murky brown water. The town itself not so interesting either. Stop only if you happen to be driving through on the way...More

Nothing special here. The viewpoint is dominated by tourist seeking businesses. It is a nice view of the Yangtze Valley. But really is just an overblown photo stop.

We stopped by the first bend of the Yangtze River on 21 Apr 2017 (Thu) on our way to Shangrila. This is the upstream of the Yangtze River located at 1850m above sea kevel. According to our tour guide An Peng from China Highlights, the...More

The weather was poor and so the view compromised. It must be lovely on a clear day However, I would not go out of my way to do this, only if en route

We need to climb a high building before you are able to see the first bend of the Yangtze river. Actually, there is another nearer sight where you can see this bend. Anyway, it is still a nice photo shoot. Even though it is not...More

Agree with the other reviewers, nice view of a valley with a river but not a must see. Kind of reminded me of Guilin. A lot of people, many meaningless souvenir stores and that is about it. If on your way please make a short...More

The Chinese seem to make a big deal out of viewing the first bend of the Yangtse, or the first bend of the Mekong and so on, setting up convenient viewing platforms, and charging fees for people to view and take snapshots of the river....More

After a long drive we finally arrived at the first bend of the Yangtze (TripAdvisor needs to correct the attraction title) and basically thought "oh, is that it". It's basically a very large bend in a very large brown river. Unfortunately it was raining so...More

This site is overlooked by a very interesting village, which is best visited on market day. Here, Naxi people sell and buy farmed or home made produce. There is also Naxi music played in an old assembly hall. The Long March monument and museum currently...More
