There is nothing to see in the village itself, no bus stops (have to use your hostel to get a ride) no restaurants and surprisingly not even one outdoor equipment shop (that way you have to rent their ****y equipment). However, the hostels there are...More

It' s such a wonderful experience to stay in HABA for couple of days, U can climb snow mountain also hiking, have cup of nice coffee in KAKA guest house! 在哈巴村呆上两天是不错的选择,如果你喜欢户外活动你可以选择登哈巴雪山或者徒步,如果你选择住下来,强烈推荐卡卡户外客栈。他们有Wi-Fi,24小时热水

Its more a stop off if you're going to climb the mountain and do other outdoor stuff. The town itself doesn't have a whole lot to offer.

Haba is an interesting township beneath the Haba Snow Mountain. The local minorities include Naxi, Hui (Muslim) and Yi peoples, as well as the odd Tibetan. It is primarily of interest to hikers and those who enjoy exploring remote and more traditional villages. The town...More

A friend and I took a 4 hour bus from Tiger Leaping Gorge in to Haba, with hopes of hiking from Haba to Bai Shui Tai (about 30km, or 19 miles), and from there on to Shangri-La. Looking back, I wish we'd spent more time...More

Expect nothing of the rural village photos you've seen on the net. As of 2015, Haba has become a small rural town with concrete building, several modern grocery stores, a mobile phone shop and various other shops. A modern multi-story hotel with air-conditioning was being...More

We passed this village on our way from Baishuitai to Tiger Leaping Gorge. It is located at the foothills of Haba Snow Mountain and is a base for hikers to the mountain. A typical small village with a few guesthouses and shops. Land around the...More

You need to have a specific purpose to go to the village. If you dont hike Haba Mt. 5.500m high, you will find it probably quite boring. I did the hike in October with pack horses and equipment and a local guide. Dont go alone...More

There is actually a shorter more direct way from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Shangrila. If time permits, highly recommend to take the very scenic Haba way that passes through Haba Village and White Water Terrace. Total journey is about 4-5hrs from Tiger Leaping Gorge. Recommend...More

I stayed at the hostel in town, which although being an unattractive concrete high-rise, more than makes up for itself thanks to the friendly lady who runs it. She has comfortable double-rooms with good hot water for a reasonable CNY100/night. She also provides simple, delicious,...More
