Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Daoheuang Market (also known as Pakse New Market) is the largest market in Pakse city. This place sells all kinds of items from household items, dry food, fresh food, etc.

For such a big city it is quiet a small market, but you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables there. The food stalls didn't seem that clean though.

There is not much to do in Pakse and the market gives you an hour or two to be explored.
It's really huge , bustling and as local as it can get. You can buy anything from fruit and live ducks to fake gucci'es etc
I love the food courts in Asian markets and this one was really exceptional with its wide choice.
I chose it over my 4* hotel breakfast both mornings and couldn't have been happier.

We stayed closer to this place. So we just walked around to see if we could buy anything. Everything is there. It may be expensive for tourists. Need to bargain. People are friendly. Everyone is peaceful in their own way. No fear of any robbery etc. You can walk around safely.

Great fresh food market to get that local feeling but there is also a covered market next to it
All the usual clothes bags fishing nets etc . However did find a ladies hairdresser just behind the jewellery section- great cut - esp as the ladies in Asia often don’t go for short hair - hair wash with head massage- then shoulder massage all for 50000 kip- Bonus

I have been to numerous markets in S.E. Asia and this market was by far the worst one I have visited. Unless you are looking to kill a few hours on a rainy day it is not worth visiting.

Indoor market with good veg section, and other foodstuffs, but the rest is fairly low quality consumer goods.
Useful if you have forgotten some cosmetics, or toiletries. Mildly interesting.
