The first museum to be built in Malaysia. The museum has Moorish characteristics as well as a combination of Neo classical and Victorian influence. The museum is rich in ethnological, historical, archaeological and ethamobological collections. A great place to learn of the history of Perak.

Worth a visit. This is Malaysia’s first museum. Architecture is beautiful. Just opposite the prison and very near to the Lake Gardens.

This museum had bits in it for everyone. Animals, pottery and cars were the favourites. Open even on Chinese New Year it was a cool respite from the heat. Bargain price of 5 ringgit.

There are only few chambers of exhibition. The items are very well presented. But as a state museum - there should be more on the tin mining industry and stories of British rule. There shd be more stories of the world war.
