The Grotto, in Bruce Peninsula National Park, is one of the top tourism attractions in Ontario. A shoreline sea cave with the beautiful blue waters, the Grotto is a unique natural wonder and memorable place to experience. It is also a very popular and busy location, especially during the peak season of July and August and on long weekends. At those times, the parking lot will fill up and you may not be able to access the Grotto.

Spent a lovely afternoon at the Grotto. It's beauty is stunning. It's a bit of a hike back to this area but oh so worth it. The caves, rock formation and gorgeous cold but blue waters are magnificent. Take bug spray, cold drinks, and snacks,...More

This is a must see place if you go to Tobermory. The park is beautiful; there are different trails and camping space. The scenery is breathtaking!!! I saw families with strollers and little babies.

After spending several days on the Bruce Trail from Owen Sound up to Tobermory where there were spectacular views around every corner, The Grotto was a bit underwhelming. It's beautiful, but no more so than lots of other spots. And it's crowded with tourists, which...More

It is very nice, beautiful place if you like to walk and hiking is really good. But if you have knees problem. It is very hard to walk up to the buff and a lot of rock to climb

We were up on the Bruce for birding and saw lots of birds on the way in and out from the Grotto. The Grotto itself is definitely worth the visit

If you are in the area, it is definitely worth the visit and the hike. We went in May which made it way too cold for swimming. But we enjoyed the hike (took the easy trail, about 25 minute easy pace walk). The water is...More

The Grotto is an attraction I've heard about for years and only just visited recently. I have to say, it really is worth the visit! It's a super neat cave. I wish I had enough time to climb down inside, but a day full of...More

We went with little foot traffic but heard that in high season it is an absolute zoo, which is not for us. Water and views are spectacular. A definite must if visiting.

Hi, I'm planning to bring my 2 years old baby and with my parents to the Indian Head Cove around June 18th. Will the timed parking in effect on the 18th? Does it mean we can arrive before 12 and get a parking permit for 12-4? Or we actually need to get parking permit in the morning like around 7am even for the time slot of 12-4? As my parents travel all the way to Toronto, we want to make sure we got access….. Also we are planning to go from the Goergian Bay Trail and returning by either the Marr Lake Trail or the Horse Lake Trail. Which trail is more stroller friendly? How long is the walk from the Indian Head Cove to the P1? Thank you !

The timed parking will be in effect on weekends and holidays from May 20 to June 30 and every day during July and August. As timed parking won't be available by reservation this season, there is no way to guarantee you will... More

I would suggest you rent a car or you look for a tour operator that can get you the transport you need. Tobermory is a very small village and there is no need for a taxi service to get around. I don't ever recall seeing... More

Which is the easiest trail to do with a toddler? And I do not want to be too far from my car. Is there parking close by? I have heard you need to arrive early as it gets busy.

The easiest trail to the Grotto is the Georgian Bay Trail. It leaves from the parking lot area and requires roughly 30 minutes to arrive at the shoreline. The trail is wide with crushed gravel and few hills. It's... More
