About
Located in the upper reaches of King Valley, Chrismont is an architecturally designed destination offering all-day wine tasting and dining with a modern. Like grapes and wine, hospitality is also in their blood, which inspired the opening of a state-of-the-art wine and food centerpiece that embodies the flavours of their Italian heritage Winner of the National Building Design of the Year Award 2016, Chrismont boasts contemporary interior and sleek design that captures unparalleled views of the King Valley from it’s elevated position. Also features elegant Guest House accommodation set amongst the vines, making it an idyllic place to restore, relax and rejuvenate. Open daily, seven days a week.

- mrsharboGeelong, Australia4 contributionsFantastic restaurant and staffFrom the superb service at the cellar door, to the amazing, friendly service in the restaurant, this place absolutely hit the mark. Food was divine, and very helpful with food intolerances. Wine of course delicious… would recommend to anyone looking for a satisfying and fun day.Visited December 2022Travelled with friendsWritten 1 January 2023
- BenjiJMMelbourne, Australia46 contributionsGreat wines and setting and good service despite the cool receptionArrived with a bunch of adults and kids and got a look of disgust for bringing children with us. Nearly turned around and walked away straight away, but sent kids away instead and gave it a chance. Wine tasting was great, with great views to boot. Would highly recommend for adults/couples but they have a thing to learn about welcoming families with children who are likely to spend money.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 January 2023
- frog0101Melbourne, Australia91 contributionsStunning view and amazing foodWhat a stunning view and food and wine to match! We had an amazing lunch at short notice in the busy January school holidays and so glad they could fit us in. The staff / owners are so friendly and engaging you felt like they had invited you to their home. With the exception of serving you top Melbourne restaurant quality food. We were just two but the building can easily accommodate large groups as well as intimate couples. Couldn’t resist three courses but would also recoded dropping in for wine tasting be it summer or winter as I spied a beautiful fire place again with the amazing view up the valley.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 January 2023
- Anthony FBallarat, Australia59 contributionsThe King Valley wine Tour.Six vignerons from Ballarat visited the cellar door today. Upon entering the cellar door we were greeted very enthusiastically by Linda who was there to conduct us through wine tasting. The wines presented were of high quality & Linda’s knowledge of all wines was first class. As restaurant was not opened we were permitted to bring our own lunch & enjoy their facilities.purchases duly made we departed the winery having established a friendship that will bring us again.Visited February 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 February 2023
- Graham HMelbourne, Australia808 contributionsOutstanding in every way! This has to be one of the best kept secrets in Victoria! Before receiving the recommendation from our B&B host, I had never heard of Chrismont Wines. But the experience was outstanding (with a capital O)! The building has to be one of the most impressive of any winery in Australia, and that is saying something! The restaurant is exquisite, with ‘a view to die for’, along the King Valley looking north. The food and wine selections are comprehensive, and dietary requirements are sensitively accommodated. I started with buffalo mozzarella & local figs salad, with a honey mustard dressing; followed by seafood pasta, in tomato sauce. The food was accompanied by a estate Shiraz (cool climate), which was smooth and delicate. The host owner (Jo) was onsite to ensure all guests we catered for and well satisfied. Our waitress, Janet, was fantastic. She entertained us with commentary on the King Valley, and local history. Overall, this was a fabulous experience, not to be missed when in the King Valley!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 March 2023
- TWal1Canberra, Australia2,861 contributionsA Good Cellar Door ExperienceWe sampled a few of Chrismont wines on this visit. We particularly enjoyed sampling some of the lesser known Italian varietals on offer. The wines were very good and the wine club looks appealing. The views over the vineyard were colourful.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 May 2023
- Wayne C11 contributionsA must do venue in King ValleyWe had heard that Chrismont was a must visit winery / restaurant and it delivered and more , started win a tasting in cellar door, followed by lunch in the restaurant, our service was fantastic, timing of the food and attention to the quality wines on offer was amazing. The food was at the next level and stayed true to it’s Italian themes. To top it all off we were chauffeured back to our accomodation by the winery staff, finishing off an amazing day or high quality food and wine. A must do venue if you are around the king valley regionVisited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 November 2023
- Don BTuggeranong, Australia86 contributionsFantastic must visit winery with an amazing restaurantChrismont is a superb destination in the King Valley. The wines are all top-shelf quality, the staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable and the food in the restaurant is amazing. We went on our annual "pilgrimage" this week and walked away after a wonderful couple of hours with our appetite sated and our palates dancing. Whether you are a White or Red wine drinker, or sweet or savory, there is wine here for you. If you are there on a fine day, make sure you dine (or at least go out onto) the verandah and take in the scenery looking out over the vineyard. On this visit we tried the scallops and the vitello tonnato for starters and the duck and quail for mains. All 4 dishes were amazing and the staff are very good at recommending a wine to go with you food if you wish to ask them. All in all a must see destination nestled down at the foot of the King valley.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 November 2023

Christmont offers an exceptional wine and dine experience , From the moment you walk in you feel welcome and indulged , The service is relaxed and talented with staff having menu knowledge and wine knowledge to match . The view is amazing while tasting lovely wines and dining on well prepared dishes . Christmont is a measure of hospitality and how to please guests . My Birthday lunch was very memorable ! From the Murray to the Mountains the Nth East of Victoria is an amazing destination for family wineries and a fine gourmet and dining scene and stunning scenery .

Well Stuart, that is quite the review - Thank you!!
As Chrismont is located in the far reaches of the King Valley and is essentially a destination in its own right, it really is very important that we ensure that our service, wine, cuisine is on point given that everyone travels so far and spends hard earned money with us. Our Chefs work tirelessly on producing great food that is matched with our wines, and the front of house staff genuinely love what they do to make sure that every guest experience exceeds their expectations. To that end we are so pleased that we could make your birthday a memorable one. Of course, you mention the view and that really completes the package and frankly makes all of our jobs that much easier.
From all the Chrismont Team once again a heartfelt thank you for your review, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Thank you Graeme, and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your Chrismont experience. The food and wine pairing is so important to us and our people from our Viticulturists and Winemakers to our Chefs and Servers, Cellar Door team and even our back office crew, are an intrinsic part of our success. Couple all of that with the "postcard" view up the King Valley, and it is pretty difficult to walk away without all of your senses being catered too. Which part keeps our guests coming back? We like to think a little bit of each! Once again thank you from Team Chrismont.
