Lengkuas Island located in the waters of the Belitung Island, and is about 30 minutes away by boat from Tanjung Kelayang beach or Tanjung Binga in District Sijuk, Belitung. In Lengkuas Island there is Lighthouse, built by Dutch colonial in 1882 and still actively working for marine navigation. Visitors must wash feet with fresh water before entering the lighthouse buildings constructed of steel, because the sea water can cause rust on the building. From the lighthouse, you can see beauty of the white sandy beaches on the island with giant granite rocks and clear sea water greenish.

Excellent spot for snorkeling, especially for first timer. We were overwhelm by the large number of fish surrounded us. Good seawater clarity. Although the corals and variety of fish can not be compared to those in East Indonesia.

You can reach Lengkuas Island by car from Tanjung Pandan to Tanjung Kelayang, then you rent a 10 pax - 20 pax boat, from Tanjung Kelayang you need about 15-20 minutes by boat

I don't think you need a tour guide. Like you say (and if you're coming from Jakarta), just fly out to Tanjung Pandan, hire a cab to Tanjung Kelayang and let him know you want to go out to Lengkuas. He will know the best... More
